Damn....I don't even know what to think right now...It sucks. I hope Brock doesn't go back to that WWE crap because I won't watch. I absolutely refuse to watch WWE again. It's ing brutal and if he goes back, I just won't believe it. He doesn't fit the PG image at all. I hope he doesn't go back. The UFC Heavyweight division won't be the same without Lesnar. Certainly won't be as exciting, that's for sure. 2011 has been a year of retirements. So long to Couture, Lytle, Cro-Cop, Penn and now Lesnar. So what exactly is the rumored deal Lesnar is likely to make with WWE? Is he going to do just do Wrestlemania, or would he come back full time for awhile?

Not that big a loss, in my opinion, the only fight I still want to see from him is Lesnar/Mir III. He got lucky against Carwin, was lucky to get out of that first round. Cain and Reem both destroyed him. He is a fantastic wrestler, but he really doesn't stack up to the true elites of the division. If he wasn't retiring, I think he should have to start back nearer the bottom of the division, at least among the more established guys, like the Kongos and such, because he was getting his ass handed ot him by many main event level fighters

Lesnar not appearing at post-fight press conference and Overeem is gettin' stitches...Dana also said Brock is retiring under contract. So, for you WWE fans you might have to wait a while if and when Brock does go back. I truly hope he doesn't. that crap. WWE ing sucks. Please Brock, stay as far away from that sh*t as possible.

Yeah, Brock retiring under contract means Dana is going to do his best ot prevent him from going to the WWE for as long as possible. Considering in 2010, Lesnar was the first man since Tyson to headline two PPVs with over a million buys, and not one PPV this year thusfar has made a million, Lesnar can be argued as the UFC's PPV king and biggest, most mainstream draw. Yeah, Dana ain't gonna be throwing Brock any favors here

So you're news for me is that a wrestler can also be an MMA fighter? Ummm...ok. Because that's not basically exactly what I said about Del Rio interchanging Lucha Libre with MMA. And Lesnar's a very poor example my friend. Guy quit wrestling because it was "to hard", tried to move onto football, ended up conveniently backing away from a football career, ended up doing MMA, got offered a huge deal by the UFC, picked up steam like no one had before, got completely devastated by Velasquez, then there were rumblings about him possibly backing away from that too and I wouldn't be surprised if he did if Dos Santos beats him. Also I had Lesnar coming it 5 maybe 6. I certainly wouldn't put him ahead of Cain Velasquez, Alistair Overeem, Fabricio Werdum(after the HUGE win over Fedor), or hell, even Fedor Emelianenko(even with the upset loss to Werdum), Dos Santos is a toss up. LMFAO at you making poop up. Brock Lesnar left wrestling because he didn't want to be on the road away from his family. Additionally, he didn't make it in football. He didn't quit, he was cut. There is a huge difference. Thirdly, he at no point said he was quitting after his loss to Cain. He took the break he had planned on taking and then came back. The media had nothing to talk about so they made up rumors, sound familiar? I don't even like Brock but at least say things that are accurate. BJ Penn is a punk. Always has been, always will be. He never takes things seriously and he is a glorified member of the Du Hui prancing around running his mouth. "The Prodigy" never panned out and hopefully Jon Fitch shuts him up for good. I typically NEVER do this, and hate when people do the whole "I told you so" routine, but felt that the guy was unnecessarily rude in his reply, so...

The ufc made a huge mistake with how they used Brock, from a business point of view they should have had him start at the bottom and work his way up the ladder. That way he'd have got the necessary experience over a longer period, built a better record etc.
No matter if he was fight 1 or main event he would have still drawn the buys and over a longer period. Respect must be given to Brock for even trying mma and fighting a former ufc champ in only his 2nd fight then beating up an experienced Heath herring then winning and humbling a mma and ufc legend randy couture plus picking up the ufc title.
Would have been real funny to see Brock retire after he won the title originally.

It's the next day and it's still hard for me to believe he retired... Not much else to say. While it was short, it was still a helluva ride, and he will be missed in the heavyweight division. He brought an excitement and spotlight to the company that was possibly never seen before. Anyone who is willing to step in there with a monster like Overeem after a life threatening illness has the utmost respect in my book.
God bless Brock, I'll miss you.

The UFC did EXACTLY what they needed to do with Brock.
They made a crap load of money off of him before he got sick of it.

I feel the same way, 100%. Without Brock in the UFC Heavyweight division, it just isn't as exciting. It's still a VERY stacked division don't get me wrong, but there's a big void without Lesnar now.... I'd like to see someone like Josh Barnett fill that void. If he wins the Strikeforce tourny, I hope UFC brings him back. He'd be a great and welcomed addition to the division.

He should never fought for UFC. ...yeah - forget the wins over Heath Herring, 3-time HW champion Randy Couture, 2-time champion Frank Mir, and dangerous/hard-hitting Shane Carwin... It's the next day and it's still hard for me to believe he retired... Not much else to say. While it was short, it was still a helluva ride, and he will be missed in the heavyweight division. He may not have been the greatest HW in the world, but he gave it his all and was willing to step in there with anyone.

don't agree with Brock retiring at all...
he looked horrible...physically he looked smaller than i have ever seen him...
but the guy is just coming back from a life-threatening illness. And Overeem finished him with body shots right around the area he had surgery.Brock would have benefited from taking a fight with someone ranked lower than top 5.
I can't believe he retired.

The illness (twice) is what cost Lesnar his career. Brock never looked the same after, even his win against Carwin was slightly fortunate.
Who knows what Lesnar could have done against Cain and Overeem if he didn't get the illness, he might still have lost both fights but I'm sure he would have put on better efforts than he did.
Overeem vs JDS is going to be fun though that's for damn sure.

Brock retiring is bittersweet for me. I like it because I might be able to see one of the best in my opinion in WWE history return and hate it because the way he went out makes him look like a crapty MMA fighter. But thats not the case at all. He got caught in a rookie mistake by top 5 heavyweight Mir, destroyed MMA legend Heath Herring, Destroyed MMA legend Randy Cotoure, Destroyed Mir in their rematch, showed that he can overcome a lot of damage in the Carwin fight to win by submission and then lost to two great fighters in Cain Velasquez and Overeem. The you factor in the fact that he had a life threatening disease during the entire second half of his run and while its not an excuse for losing it does factor in. Brock was a huge draw for the UFC and was in my opinion a great fighter and im going to miss him greatly. And to all the people disrespecting him, I dare any of you to step into the octagon with him......then we'll see how many of you disrespect him

I will talk about this. 1st I am a huge Overeem fan. The only guy that even poses a challenge is Cain, he Cain bang and also wrestle if in shape.
Brock wanted to crap out 2 years ago. He freaks out when hit. I do believe he never trusted his chin. Phenomenal athlete. Never believed in himself. Which is why he always walks away from unfinished projects.
I think the monopoly in the ufc weight divisions will get stagnant soon. Either GSP will move up or Silva will. By June we will either see GSP/Silva or Bones/Silva. Leaning on Silva/Bones.

Watched the fight again. Now I know it's going to sound like I'm just picking at Brock but I respect the hell out of him. Fought some top guys and won, but it just REALLY looked like he didn't want to be in there. He didn't commit to any takedown, and he just looked like he wanted to leave.
Good for him, though. He wants more time with his family, so hey more power to you.
