I love Buffy.
One of my favorite shows ever.
Season 4 was my favorite but the whole run was great.

My obsession with BtVS and AtS is well documented. That being said... them for killing Tara. Also, the Willow/Kennedy breakup in season 8 breaks my heart. Joss just doesn't like happy couples. I gotta agree with this, killing Tara was the one thing I really was shocked at (well that and Xander's eye). I thought Tara was awesome, her and Willow were great.

I really want to watch this show, but I've tried on 3 separate occasions and I can't make it past the first 6 or 7 episodes. It just seems corny as with terrible dialogue and I don't get the appeal AT ALL.

My favorite characters from both shows are Faith and Drusilla. To me they were both perfectly written character and the actresses that played them were perfect fits.
I hated Angel season 4 for what they did to Cordelia. Having her become evil and boink Angel's son was disappointing.

After that smooth sailing......

I really like the first season.. it was simple and fun
I disagree about the dialogue, I thought the first season's dialogue was sharp and quite witty

Joss loves to kill characters for shock value and to break up romances for his own amusement. He's done it to every couple any of his shows have ever had. Even cancellation couldn't save Wash/Zoe on Firefly.

IMO, one of the most overrated shows of our time. More like underrated.

I definitely agree that Season 4 was bad, I generally consider it the weakest of the 7. However, 5 is my favourite. The key storyline with Dawn, Glory, Buffy dying; it was great.

I don't agree with these while I enjoyed the simplicity of seasons 1-3, I feel that the characters started to grow more on me as the seasons went on... and while I missed some, it was easy to move on while still remembering where it began season 4 was so cool with the government organization containing/controlling demon creatures.. I also appreciate how they further blurred the lines between good and evil as they went on.. and I must be like the only one to appreciate Riley's presence on the show.. and there were some really fun and cool eps in season 4 like Hush and the whole story arch with Faith returning.. and crossovers! Season 7 was so awesome.. the maturity of the characters really spoke to me.. it was also very EPIC!

The only season that was meh to me was the 6th but it still had some amazing stand out episodes.

Or Echo and Paul Ballard on Dollhouse. Fred and Wesley on Angel kills me the most, breaks my heart. dude, me too I think it's because it happened so quickly and then she dies.. and it took the heart of core group down.. Wes dying was also pretty sad.. I always like the look he gives Angel before they go their separate ways in the finale.. it's sorta like "this is it"

Angel was FANTASTIC until it jumped the shark and Angel had a baby that was stolen from him, taken to another dimension in a time warp and returned as a teenage boy. From there you watch Angel struggle from becoming a father, which isnt possible for a vampire, to struggling with fathering a teenager. From there on, there is a very little to hang onto and the show goes downhill. The final nail in the coffin comes when the show jumps the shark AGAIN, which is almost impossible, but Angel takes over as the head of Wolfram Hart, the evil law firm. Angel trades the trench coat in for Armani suits and the dark streets for the court room. No seriously. The final arch to the series finale, which was awesome, is pretty good and reminds you of why you even started to watch in the first place. The show could have been a lot better, but they constantly wanted shock value and failed.

Even cancellation couldn't save Wash/Zoe on Firefly. Or Echo and Paul Ballard on Dollhouse. Echo was never a character I could get into, I always wanted Catherine or whatever her name was. The episode where they were themselves was such a tease, I loved those characters.
