Right, I just finsihed the whole series yesterday and all I have to say is wow. It was about 6 weeks ago I got this urge to complete the PS2 game Chaos Bleeds I had gotten back in 04 but never gotten past the second level, so I started playing and felt like I should buy the boxset. I had alwasy been interested in Buffy, however had never really watched it, I remember only getting into it when S5 was first shown in the UK, I saw bits and pieces but the first full episode was the series finale and well we know what happens there, so with that and the wait till S6 I must have forgotten or whatever, and had never really gotten back into it. So anyway, I bought and got the DVD's about 5 weeks ago, and since I've no job at the moment, and University doesn't start till next week I decided I'd watch it all, and devote the next 6 weeks to Buffy, which I did. And after 7 Seasons I am just amazed how they kept the same high quality through it all, its the only show I've ever watched where it never went downhill, and the charcters stayed true to themselves, they never changed too much to the point where it wasn't them. What I'm saying is that its a great series, a great show and just a fun ride, and to anyone who hasn't watched it yet, or is contimplating on, do it, its worth it.
I also wanted to ask about Angel, I haven't watched any of that, but is it worth it, is it was good? I was never that big of a fan of Cordilia, and I do know she's got a pretty big part in it.

IMO, one of the most overrated shows of our time.

Watched the first episode when I was 7, absolutely adored it. It became my obsession for years, I still watch the entire run through once a year. Masterpiece of a show.

It's not a bad show, but it just never "grabbed" me like it does so many other people. I watched the first two seasons, and just couldn't keep myself interested. It's weird because IK love Sci-Fi and other shows like Buffy. I do like Joss Whedon though.

I dont think its a "masterpiece" like many say. It's a good, solid show which works so well because it fully embraces it's cornyness. Angel is great. It's kind of a cross-between Buffy the Vampire Slayer and shows like Supernatural, because they are working as a team to solve mysteries. Angel also has Gunn, Lorne and Quinn, among other great characters.

One of my all time favorite TV shows I don't think I have ever cared about the characters in a show as much as i did Buffy the only thing that comes even a tiny bit close is Supernatural. I always remember the season 5 final here in the Uk when Buffy died andduring the credits the voice over guy on Sky1 told us Buffy would be back later in the year lol.

I still maintain that the show should have ended with that final, I cried like a bitch. Season 6 is underrated though, it has some of my favourite episodes. Once More With Feeling is just <3 I don't really care for seven, but I know people like it.

I loved six, even though there must much of stroy till the last 4 or so episodes, I loved seeing Willow go insane with magic.

Dark Willow & the Spike rape attempt on Buffy, along with the Trio being hilarious was all great.

As much as I liked Buffy (show), I always prefered Angel (show)

Buffy is my third favorite show ever. Angle is my second. It has a great tone, great characters, and works very well, Angel is a great character, and if you liked Buffy, you'll like angel

I love Buffy, and Angel is pretty great too, I just wish it went on longer.

Yeah, if you liked Buffy, you'll enjoy Angel. It's got a more mature and darker tone, but it's good. I'll be honest, I HATED Cordelia in BtVS...but fell in love with her in Angel. You really get to watch her grow as a character and she becomes an amazing woman.
Buffy is and likely always will be my favorite TV show of all time. (Admittedly though, True Blood is catching up quick.) It has shaped a lot of who I am as a film maker and a lot of who I am as a person...
Btw, if you're a Spike fan at all (my favorite character), the time he spends on Angel is just pure epic win. The Series is almost worth a watch simply for the antics between he and Angel.

Angel is the WORST. The crap they did in that series, especially with Cordie in the last 2 seasons was ing ridiculous. Also. The last season of Angel.. I could barely get through it. It seemed like they were throwing darts at different ideas and whichever stuck they took. The stuff with Fred/Wes & Cordie was just so bad. If you were a fan of Cordie, she was great in the first two seasons. I could look past the fact they brought back someone who was killed in Season 1 of Buffy, I could deal with the fact that they gave Angel a teenage son.. but them working in a "Law Firm", The 3 unnecessary deaths of important characters from both Buffy/Angel. I can't forgive that. The best thing by far about Angel was Lorne, and seeing Wesley turn into a complete badass. In season 5, I watched through it just because Spike was in it. James Marsters is incredible.

I love love love both shows. Buffy is my favorite show of all time. I'm in the midst of running through all the seasons again for the first time in years. Still holds up over time. Buffy became such a groundbreaking character and a real stand out character for women to look up to. The show is so well written as well, and I'm a huge sucker for a show that carries continuity from season to season and references past episodes.
I love Angel as well. I'll admit the fourth season got a little weird (but was still intriguing) but the fifth season is incredible, and may be the best season of either show (I'm torn between the 5th of Angel and the 3rd of Buffy). Cordy becomes more humane and a lot less bitchy/stuck up as the show goes on.

My obsession with BtVS and AtS is well documented. That being said... them for killing Tara. Also, the Willow/Kennedy breakup in season 8 breaks my heart. Joss just doesn't like happy couples.

I'm a 28 year old man, & I got hooked. So good, but I tried to rewatch it & couldn't get into it the 2nd time around. I guess cause I already new the outcome. As for angel, watched seasons 1-4, then gave up because I new it was cancelled & wouldn't get a satisfying end
