Not sure how many of you have picked up the new Orton DVD, which is great by the way, but I have an interesting question.
In the evolution of Orton, who was more responsible for making Orton credible? Maybe a better way of asking it would be who gave the biggest rub?
I know most will probably side with HHH for obvious reasons. He brought him into Evolution, was his first big feud for the title both World Heavyweight and WWE, headlined Wrestlemania including a months long story before that.
On another hand, I personally point to Mick Foley as a guy that made Orton not just look credible, but really did make him look like "the future". Their hardcore match was really a defining moment for Orton, and the win gave him a big boost.
And then we have the Undertaker, who more or less saved Orton from a failed face turn and lead him directly into a months long feud, a match at both WM and Summerslam, a Hell in a Cell match, and pushed him to the heights of a World Title match at Wrestlemania.
For my money, it's Foley but that's just me.

I'd go with Taker, if Orton didn't end up feuding with him, I doubt he wouldn't have gotten as big as he has today. It really saved him.

Mick Foley, imo. The hardcore match at Backlash 2004 is still among one of my favorite matches

I'd say he himself is responsible for it. The entire DVD talked about through all his mistakes, he got away with it for being so talented. He lucked out because when they brought him in they were in a desperate time to build new stars. Mick Foley put him over huge when he was a midcarder. Triple H didnt do much for Orton in the terms of matches. Undertaker's feud was relatively forgettable. I'd say it's Orton and right place, right time.

Probably Foley, without him I don't really see what Orton could have done, maybe a bigger fued with RVD but Foley made him a real threat, made him look credible.

Randy himself is first imo. He went through hell(of course alot buy his own faults) but the timing for him(and Cena too) when they both were called up pretty much at the same time was perfect.
If he wasnt so talented at the start he might nor be where he is today but after seeing the great DVD of him Id have to go w/HHH. He was the first to get him the rub of being w/ him and Flair and if he wasnt in Evolution first he probably wouldnt have even got the shots w/ Foley and Taker in the first place.

Foley put Orton over, undoubtedly. But Triple H and Ric Flair are most responsible for Orton's success. According to most, they legitimately hand-picked Orton and Batista to make-up Evolution. Without Trips and Ric going to bat for Orton, he may not have achieved success as quickly has he had. With that said, Randy should be applauded for bettering himself and becoming the most consistently great in-ring performer in the company.

I voted 'Other' because I feel it was his own hard work the most.
HHH helped with Evolution because surely he could have choose who was in it instead of Orton but he picked Orton.
And Foley's feud with Orton was great and very memorable.

Gotta go with Triple H on this. Foley is a close second, but Hunter bought Orton into Main Event status.
On a side note: I love the idea of this poll and hope to see more in the future.

Easily Foley. I didn't give a rats ass about Orton until their match at (I think) Backlash.

I picked other because I'd say Orton is responsible for his own rise to the top.

Tie between Foley and 'Taker. I'm going w/ Foley.

Orton foremost, for learning from all the greats he's been in the ring with. Outside of that, I'd have to say Triple H and RIC FLAIR. Flair helped mold him back in the Evo days as much as anyone.
