So I have over 120 figures sitting on my bookshelves, all of them Elites/Legends/Defining Moments/Exclusives, so they all have some type of accessory or cloth that seems to be accumulating dust. Now a lot of my figs have loose ankles that I really don't want to use superglue for, so dusting them with a feather duster just doesn't seem effective if it's just going to knock them over. The spray in the can for dusting doesn't seem to do the trick, but even if it did I would have to get several cans...What should I do? I've tried rearranging them, taking off the accessories and replacing them, nothing seems to keep the dust away...help please!

I think the best way would just to be rinse them off with warm water here and there. Or let them soak in warm water for a minute or 2. That way you don't have to worry if the cleaning chemicals will damage the figure in anyway.

Your very best bet is to use a Swiffer duster. It picks up dust really well and is really soft, so it won't scratch your figures. Of course, you'll still have to pick each one up to give them a quick once over, but those things work so well it takes no time at all. You can probably find a generic equivalent cheaper, too.

I'm too lazy to dust action figures so 95% of my toy collection is in boxes. I have some rooms with no carpeting but even that doesn't keep all the dust down. I do small rotations. When I get tired of looking at some figures, I dust them, put them in a box and replace with some new ones.

I Don't Seem To Have This Dust Problem As I Keep All My Figures In A Curio Glass Shelf/Cabinet & It Never Gets Dust In There.

Have a look at getting pressurised air in a spray can.
People use it to clean electronics and stuff where you can't put water on. It might work for blowing dust off figures without needing to take them all off and clean them one by one.

i keep mine in a glass case so no dust gets in. otherwise your only option is to pick them each up and dust them off with a rag. sorry theres no magic solution

Just keep moving them every few days.. if you let them just set there, there gonna collect dust and its pointless too really collect them.. but, if you pick them up every few days and look at them or play with them or pose them around, then they are never going too get dusty.. the shelf will.. but never the figures.. so yeah just keep moving them around and you will never have too worry about dust.. as for the dust you got now.. get a magnetic duster that all you have too do is hold it lightly against the figures and it scoops up dust like a magnet would.. not sure if a swiffer duster does that but i hear there pretty nice for the job too

I've never had this problem with my figures collecting dust....I just rearrange them once every month or so. I don't know if that is what does the trick or if it is just that my house doesn't have much dust. Either way, they are fairly clean.

so its easier to dust around figures if they are made by a different company ?? the point was a joke which was based around people moaning mattels have weak ankles and fall over, and will fall over with a duster

My bad it was meant at the bitchy haters but its a note to mattel to fix it maybe but i know it would be too much to re-design and mould the new ankles
