Overall, I'm not worried. We're getting accessories with Basics, Flashbacks, and new playsets in 2012, so I'm looking forward to it!
Exactly! I don't care what the box looks like or what the series name or number is.

Maybe because he's a kid, ass. If you're too young to work and have a job, you should be too young to be on these boards, plain and simple. What kind of spoiled brat makes his family go out and buy action figures for them?

You're a serious moron. You really are. Too young to be on these boards? Says who? You? F*ck off. And secondly, what kind of a kid asks his family for toys? Oh, I dunno...a kid who has a birthday? A kid that celebrates Christmas? Don't be a jackass.

I think it's a good idea.
Say John Cena is number 1 and Jinder Mahal is number 4. Stores can see number 1 is selling and number 4 is not, so they can order more number 1's instead of having to order series 1 which may only include two 1's and one 4 and lose money by having number 4 hanging around the stores and taking away shelf space from more number 1's.
At least that is how I am interpreting how the distribution could be with number figures instead of numbered series. If I'm wrong then I think my idea is still great.

And Jesus..PEOPLE. Can't you just wait and see what's going to happen? God damn. I swear it really sucks coming here sometimes because you're all so negative. Everything is always gloom and doom, and the end of the world for you. Lighten the hell up. They're just toys, and it's meant to be fun. And you all just have to suck the life out of everything you touch. WAIT. Just. WAIT. Win. Calm down people, this speculated system works, its been out there for years. To give more examples, here is a link to Wiki's Marvel Universe checklist: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvel_Universe_%28toyline%29Also, here is a link to Entertainment Earth to see how some case packs are laid out. www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=HMV78230QThe new figures in the wave are Steve Rogers, Darkhawk, Namor the Sub-Mariner, X-23, & Ultron. Dr. Doom & Falcon are older figures, but are being reissued. Finally, for all those questions on how will stores order the figures? The same way they always do. All the basic figures are the same sku/skn, no matter the series (basic or ppv), so that wont change. NYCC is in 2 weeks, Im sure if we dont know anything by then, itll be revealed there.

I think someone already mentioned this, but a store doesn't order based upon anything other than upc/sku. The wiki page about SKU's sums it up perfectly -"SKUs are not always associated with actual physical items, but are more appropriately billable entities. Extended warranties, delivery fees, and installation fees are not physical, but have SKUs because they are billable. All merchants using the SKU method will have their own approach to assigning the SKU system based on regional or national corporate data storage and retrieval strategies. SKU tracking varies from other product tracking methods which are controlled by a wider body of regulations stemming from manufacturers or possibly third-party regulations."
We probably won't see much of a change to be honest in the volume/ quantity of figures if I had to guess. Wave 1 of the new numbers will probably be #1 through #6, and wave 2 would be #7-#12. PPV will probably continue in the main line like say #13-#18, and the card would possibly have deco to reflect it. That is all just conjecture, but I can guarantee that the business model of a rigid releasing schedule will remain the same. Why on Earth would they drop the ball on one of the only toy lines that gets stocked on a frequent basis even though other toy lines are failing and being discontinued at retailers like Wal-mart, Target, and TRU. Think about it. Rumblers come out in a tight fashion (as far as assortments, I mean, I can tell what comprises a wave clearly), just not frequently, they seem to be a slow burn in my area, but they do all sell out eventually. Same thing with the FlexForce figures. They're aimed at kids, of course they sell slower in a day and age where kids prefer video games, and I'm sure there is an action figure app for their expensive phone, but after Christmas I guarantee you there won't be any of the flex force figures left that are on the shelf at the moment. Star Wars Figures and G.I. Joe and Marvel Universe, and several other toy lines have been using this method of figure numbering for years. And trust me, Star Wars have had a pretty rigid schedule of release, I used to collect them several years ago.
Now, on to the next point of contention. About the packages: MATTEL IS A BUSINESS, NOT A CHARITY. THEY DO NOT CARE IF YOU CRY BECAUSE THE BUBBLES ARE SMALLER AND YOU DON'T LIKE THEIR AESTHETIC ANYMORE. IF MONEY CAN BE SAVED, THEN MONEY WILL BE SAVED. THIS IS HOW BUSINESSES STAY IN BUSINESS. DO YOU LIKE BEING ABLE TO GO TO ALMOST ANY STORE IN AMERICA AND FIND WWE TOYS THERE? THEN BE QUIET. DON'T LIKE IT DON'T BUY IT. FEEL FREE TO APPLY THIS LOGIC TO MANY OTHER THINGS, BE THEY COMIC BOOKS OR MOVIES OR VIDEO GAMES.

What kind of spoiled brat makes his family go out and buy action figures for them? Never heard of being too young to talk about TOYS. Last I checked toys were mainly geared toward kids. And who said he's making his family buy the stuff for him? Seems like he is telling them what he wants and if they want to get him something they know what to get him. When I was a kid Christmas used to be pretty funny when like 3 different family members would get me the same thing. I used to end up trading with my cousin cuz the same thing would happen to him. Anyway, I'm not bothered by it. I'm really curious about it though. Let's say they have John Cena as Figure #1. Then they do an updated Cena. How do that work? Does he get a new number or is it still figure #1 and they stop making the old one? As for the new packaging I'm all for is. Smaller bubble means it takes up less space in the garbage.

I've been a member on here for a couple years now & have been reading these forums for even longer. And this, this sentence right here is the dumbest thing anyone has ever said on these forums. Congratulations sir, cause there has been some stiff competition over the years, but this takes the cake.
