I already loved him, but I love CM Punk even more for this.
Classy move from both Punk and the WWE, Eddie will never be forgotten. Best ever.

Can't help but think that if Cena or Orton had done this, it'd be 'Pfft he's just trying to get a cheap pop.'
Nonetheless that was cool of him.

Difference being, at least he comes off to me when he talks about wrestling, wanting to do it his whole life, and how much he respects guys like Eddie, Punk always comes off sincere. Basically, I don't think anyone would accuse Punk's intentions/actions as anything but purely genuine.

Punk isn't just a wrestler, he's a fan of the sport and those that came before him.
What he did wasn't televised and he did it as a sign of respect.
Punk is a solid guy and a professional.

Very classy. Punk really respects the business.
EDIT: Video.

Very classy move on the part of CM Punk. But it's not exactly like he went out of his way. It's El Paso and it's only commonplace that Eddie is mentioned, especially at a house show.
And as someone else said, Punk was a fan of wrestling and it's all he ever wanted to do so I wouldn't dare question his sincerity, that's just insane.
Anyway.. when we're on topic of Cena wanting to get a cheap pop.. I don't think that's true. If Cena was to troop down in the colours of a different state's teams, that's a cheap pop. But something said on the live mic - as willbuh says - isn't Cena looking for a cheap pop but merely respecting or paying tribute to someone or something - much like Punk did above.
Here's a video of Cena's house show sincerity.

They had a single match before the triple threat, to set up the triple threat (from memory, I believe Eddie beat up Rey before the match). I saw it a few months ago, but couldn't find the triple threat. I'm probably going to have to search for it now later.
