Another quick question: can you blend basics and elites for customs?

Another quick question: can you blend basics and elites for customs? Might be abit of a struggle, but yeah, it's possible. I say go for it.

yeah its a good deal like the others said.. and you can blend them for customs, just depends what parts your using.. the legs are a little harder because the crotch area of the basics are alot different then elites so i doubt elite legs would go on basic bodys, but the rest is pretty possible (heads, Arms, Torso, Feet)

Ok cool because as many on here, I want a grotesque/ undashing cody elite. Trying to decide on robbing the classic ic title from my CS14 Rude and using white out to make codys belt. I already opened my CS3 Dibiase and gave his Million $ belt to Ted jr...very painful experience :/

I already opened my CS3 Dibiase and gave his Million $ belt to Ted jr...very painful experience :/ haha i bet, why couldnt you just get a special kind of paint or acrylic or something too cover the belt white? i think that would turn out better than the white out haha you know how smeary the white out can turn things and eventually will just peel off ya know.. but yeah if you took a classic IC title and painted the strap with a good kind of something too turn it white i think that would be pretty cool.. I also want a grotesque Cody Rhodes, am hoping he comes out in E13 pre orders but if not im sure E14 in Dec will have him and if not that, im just gonna spring for the 2 pack also and figure something out from there lol Been wanting too turn a couple basics i have into elites like the Million Dollar Man and old school undertaker, just never figured out how too do the lower body/ legs with out just finding a whole elite lower body style too use from another fig and well, im not much of a professional painter so that would be rough too design tights too for guys like EG Jericho lol

Idk what to use for the belt. I've never painted anything before. And id just like for Cody and Ted to blend with my 4 elites. The legs I don't really mind as my E8 Sheamus has loose legs that make displaying him difficult. I was lucky to find these two and I don't have much figure $ to play with and my only mattel supplier is wm and they haven't carried 2 packs in months.

don't use white out.. white out will just 100% ruin it.. Testors Acrylic paint. you can get it for about $2 a bottle. You'll need to do several coats of white over the black, but it'll turn out 10000% better than using white out.
Or you could just leave the strap black, since you have no idea what you're doing customizing wise..

Its painting...im sure I could figure it out... "brush on paint, make sure there are no bubbles, let dry, repeat."

the Cody fig is so-so (IMO) but the DiBiase fig is one of his best (again IMO) because of the scan.

I'll echo what everyone else is saying in terms of painting the belt -- don't use white out! I actually had the same train of thought that you did way back when when I started customizing and it's really just not a good idea. Here's what you do. Get some white paint. Apple Barrel brand you can find for less than a dollar at Walmart and it works just fine. Get a brush -- you can get them fairly cheap at Walmart as well. Remove the plates from the belt so you've just got the plastic strap there. Water down your paint a little bit and don't just glop on the paint and move it around. What you want to do is go for thin coats -- it won't look like much starting out, but it'll dry faster and the whole thing will come out much smoother. I'd say a good 3-5 thin coats on each side of the strap. Once it's dry, you don't want to ruin all the work you've done and have the paint chip. Get some acrylic sealer, you can find that at Walmart. Give each side of the strap a nice mist of the sealer -- Do it outside or in a well ventilated area because it stinks! Give it a light mist, let dry, lather rinse repeat 2-3 times. Put all the plates back on where they were, and there you go!
Is it a long process? Sure, yeah. Might be a little bit pricier than you want to go for one project -- the sealer is 3-4 bucks for a decently sized can. But the way I look at it, if you're doing something, it's worth doing right.

I like the Cody because he has the mad face scan if I can get my face mask right and the white belt made then all id need is to remove his knee pads and get a hoody from Ralphs. I like his tights so ill keep those the same. And thanks for the advice cioffdogg. +1
