Everyone likes to discuss their favorite, but which Smackdown! game(s) left you feeling disappointed? Not so much the worst game, but the one you were most hyped about only to be let down.
Personally, Just Bring It left alot to be desired. I remember my brother going out and buying a PS2 ($300+ in 2001) just to play it. The first two SD! games on the original PS were great, but this one was going to be the best ever with the power of the PS2 behind it. As it turned out, Just Bring It was pretty much SD! 2.5. The graphics were better, albeit slightly. The much-hyped commentary still gets joked about ten years later simply because it was THAT bad. Even the Season Mode was underwhelming. Don't get me wrong I did have some fun with JBI, but I just expected so much more on a next-gen system.
I really enjoyed the next four titles in the series, but I seemed to hit a wall when SvR'07 came out. Everything just started feeling too familiar. Not enough had changed from the previous games in my opinion. I actually haven't bought a WWE game since.

2008, by far.
I spent that entire summer speaking to someone online, we got ourselves so hyped up for it. Then it just ended up being so mediocre. I don't think it's the worst wrestling game of all time, like a lot of people do; but it was definitely the biggest letdown of the series for me.

Smackdown VS RAW 2008 was bullpoop. Just Bring It was great on release. If you played it after Shut Your Mouth was released, it's a big disappointment though because we didn't know what was possible.

2008 defiantly. I liked all the hardcore stuff at the time but looking back now that game had nothing.

2008. Hell, I regretted buying it for 10 bucks close to 2 years ago.

Yeah, 2008 by far. It had a tiny roster, and got boring really fast.

Yeah, I played 2008 for like 2 months to unlock everything by playing through the tedious 24/7 mode, then literally hardly touched it again. Awful.

08 was not bad at all.
Just Bring It was by far the biggest dissapointment. It came out in November of 2001 and featured none of the WCW/ECW stars from the Invasion angle. The Story Mode was extremely short, and it had to have had the worse commentary in a wrestling game of all time.

2009 was terrible, all it was was a copy of 2008 with changed rosters

Is it bad that 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010 all blend together for me and I can't remember much about them? I can't remember the rosters or anything really. I know one game had the ECW Originals but can't remember which one

I know one game had the ECW Originals but can't remember which one 2007 was the first one to bring in the Super Control Grapples, and a few other things that 06 didn't have. 2008 had the ECW Originals. 2009 brought in the RTWM, Create A Finisher, and new style of Tag-Play. 2010, was basically 2009 but with an updated roster, a slightly re-tooled grapple engine, and Create A Flying Finisher.

Just Bring It was cool because you could have the 8-man Royal Rumble, and it was the first Smackdown not on PS1, so the graphical upgrade was pretty noticeable. I was mega hyped for it and I did enjoy it at first.
After a short while, though? Not a whole lot to love about that game. The commentary is infamously bad, and the gameplay didn't really feel like it evolved much at all. It's pretty crazy that up until this year, all the other Smackdowns were available on PS2 as well. It's like a whole new generation gap contained on the same console.
