I just recently started selling stuff on Ebay... what are you supposed to do when someone wins something you are selling, but do not pay for it right away. I have 2 items that have been won and not paid for, for like 3 days... is there a time limit or something?
I have sent them messages asking if they still wanted the stuff they bid on.. no response.
Thanks in advance.

I think there is a certain amount of time. 3 Days isn't that long, maybe he had something he had to tend to.

If they havent paid after 3-4 days, I send them another invoice. If they dont pay a few days after that, you can file a case to get your Final Value Fee back. Giving buyers 5 days to pay is really generous considering payment can be sent with just a few clicks of a mouse.

I usually say in my auctions that if payment isn't received in 4 days, I open a claim. You open a "Payment not received case" It gives the buyer 4 days from the time you open it to pay. If they don't, you close it and receive a final value credit fee, meaning you don't have to pay the fees from the winning auction

Thanks for your responses guys. I'm trying to be patient cause I know people might not be at their computer as often as most of us are.. It's hard to do though cause when I win something, I pay almost immediately.
I sent both of the people invoices, so we'll see what happens I guess.

Just wait. Usually in my auctions I list the following just to clear up any doubts/confusion and I suggest you do the same.
• Wether or not you will offer shipping discounts. People will often be more inclined to buy more if you offer cheaper shipping. • Wether or not you take returns. • How you will ship items. I usually post if I will be shipping in an envelope, a buble envelope, a box, whatever. AND what shipping service will be used. • How long you are willing to wait for payment. I usually ask people to pay with in 3 days.
Theres more you can put on your auctions, I just listed a few I think a very important.
As for a person who doesnt pay...... Id say wait. You've given them 3 days so far. Resend an invoice. And then on the 5th day open a case with ebay.
Also it is VERY important to ALWAYS GET DELIVERY CONFIRMATION. All it costs is a few cents and it will save you from so much grief later on.

If the other dude doesn't pay, send him a message. If he still doesn't reply, you can contact eBay about reporting him. Hate when peopel don't pay quickly!

I've sent him a couple messages already... and an invoice! So, I hate to do it, but if he doesn't respond by tomorrow I will report him. There is really no reason not to pay promptly, or at least respond to someone. Know what I'm sayin'?

I never understand when people delay to pay on eBay, I always pay at most a day after. If I bid on something I always check on it and I'm there at the end of the bid incase someone else bids so I can win the damn thing and pay for it!
Glad the one guy paid, this is why I'm so unsure about selling stuff on ebay.

I usually wait till about 3 days after the auction has ended and will send a message saying I haven't heard from them and was wondering if they still plan on paying. If they don't respond after the 4th day I open up a case against them. If they don't pay after those 4 days I close the case to get my final value back and re-list the item. Also a tip if you get someone that doesn't pay make sure to add them to your blocked bidder's list. Otherwise you run the risk of them doing it again and wasting your time and money.

ea, I never understood why people don't pay right away. Especially on BIN. When I buy something with a BIN, I pay right away. If it's an auction, I pay right away unless it ends sometime when I am sleeping as I won't stay up until 4am or so just to pay for something or see if I won it, unless it's something I am really looking forward to buying.

I give people a week to pay, then message then saying they need to tell me their intentions on the item.

The other guy finally paid.
He also must not have read that I only ship within the United States. So I need to ship to Spain. Luckily, I got him to pay for the international shipping charges. I bet he doesn't speak English.
Another person is claiming they never received their package, yet I have a confirmation number stating it was delivered.
Selling things on Ebay is a f'n headache. lol.

Yes it is. And then you have to pay Ebay for selling on that site so sometimes it feels like you are the one being ripped off. If you ever need help translating things to spanish let me know.

Thanks in advance. well friend, my sister sell my brothers & my stuff on evilbay all the time. she has a 4day pay period. the buyer has 4days too pay...... she sends emails aswell, if no response by that amount of time frame. she opens a case. then another 4days will past......then ebay will refund the final fee & give the buyer a strike or something on their buying account.
