I printed out the pictures in the thread about the Kmart cube and went to Kmart today....I brought the pictures with me because I don't expect the people there to know about WWE or have any idea about the specific products in the store.
I go up to customer service and I say that I've noticed that a lot of Kmarts are putting out this identical four sided display box of WWE toys, I was wondering if you knew if or when this store might be getting the display in, or if maybe it was already here and just hadn't been put out yet.
I hand the woman the picture to show her the display. She looks at it and hands it back and goes "yeeaaah....this doesn't exist. I've never heard of it before."
I said, "really, well it looks like on the picture it's for a promotion called Royal Riches. Kmart has done this sort of promotion before where if you by a certain amount of merchandise you get credited with $10 or so off of a WWE Pay Per View."
She responds with "Kmart has never done anything like that, you must have it confused with another store."
And I was sort of shocked,....so I said, "so you're telling me that this display box of which I have photographs and purchased figures from at another Kmart YESTERDAY, in fact, does not exist?"
And she goes "yeah, that's not a Kmart display."
I show her the picture again, where there are little Kmart symbols ALL OVER the display. She says "yeah, that's not Kmart.....must have been another store.
I was like "wow....is this really happening? Is this real life? What's next, are you going to tell me I'm not in Kmart right now?"
And I walked away.
I wanted to scream it was so frustrating. I have no problem if they said they don't have it or weren't allowed to put it out yet. Hell, I even would have been cool if they said they just flat out didn't feel like going and getting it and putting it out it yet!
But to stand there and try and tell me that the display either does not exist when there are Kmart symbols all over the display in the pictures, or to try and tell me that I'm so stupid that I went to another store and THOUGHT I was at Kmart....wow....just wow.

Not the first time I seen this because I myself have dealt with people remarkably ignorant about this.

You must keep one thing in mind. The best job this person could find is at K-MART.

Sorry you had to deal with that. Pure laziness at its finest. I can't stand employees like this.

I had a MUCH different experience. They just gave me a $10 gift card. I was able to use it immediately.

There is a lady who works in the toy dept at my Kmart who doesn't give a hoot about her job. I asked her when are they getting the cube. She gave me a lame excuse that they wont get something like what I had described until they reset the mod in February. She's hard to deal with according to my nephew who works at Kmart.

I hate to see that kind of service brought on to someone, but did you even check the toy department and see if it was even displayed?

That sucks, I work at WM and if I don't know about something I always make sure to call someone who's more skilled in that department. And people wonder why Sears is probably closing a ton of KMart and Sears stores this coming year EDIT: typo

You just gotta know the right ppl. I luckily have friends and family who work for different retail stores in my area, and As soon as the newest WWE products come in, they dont even make it too the shelf cause my family and friends already know what i need and grab it out the back. Vicki is a fine example. They didnt even set the display out yet at our kmart and yesterday my friend knew too grab her up for me and big zeke and turns out she was the only vicki in the whole cube and i didnt even have too wait for the display too be put out. It is rude of that lady, but ya cant blame her for not knowing. They dont get told stuff like this. Only managers know of upcoming displays and merchandise

I work at WalMart and first thing you learn that understocking can lead to being fired. I never understock. When I see that we have an item, I wait until it's put on to the shelves, or on the floor so customers have a chance at it as well. I work my entire shift and if the item is still there then yes, I will buy it. For the sake of your friends and family, I hope they are never caught doing this because they would surely be terminated if they were.

The people at my K-Marts are telling me they already put it out. Um, no you didn't. Were they put on to the side counters aka shelves? Sometimes to conserve space so they can put another display up, they break down the PDQ or shipper that the figures were put on and place them on the shelves.

I never bother asking store employees about anything in the store. Complete waste of time. And NEVER, NEVER call a store and ask if they have a certain figure or series of figures or anything else. They will just tell you yes without looking because they figure you'll buy something else while your in the store. Oldest trick in the book.

Nah you dont get fired for that! lol Your walmart just pulls you around then or at least that is there rule. Different stores can make there own rules like that and it sucks that yours does for sure. Our stores are nice. Like the ppl who work there, are customers too so its not wrong or illegal too buy something before the customers do because, well.. the workers are customers too. It happens a lot in stores all over but yeah my friends and families bosses in my area are totally fine with it as long as no one is stealing nothing or doing something fishy they can buy it. Actually, its smiled at that employees would get first picks or discounts on things around here because there busting there butt and putting in so much time at the store for that company, they earn things like discounts and being trust too be able too buy something before its sat out.

They will just tell you yes without looking because they figure you'll buy something else while your in the store. Oldest trick in the book. I encountered this one time when I was collecting the Best of WCW/ECW figures that JAKKS produced. I called Washington Wal*Mart and asked if they carried those figures and named off the name exactly of the line. The lady on the phone told me yes, they had just put out two fresh cases. I drove the half hour out there because they said they would hold them for me if I could get there within the hour. On arrival I asked them and they pulled out the box which had Ring Rage figures in it. I told them that they were mistaken and I repeated what I wanted held and they said that those figures were what I was looking for. Needless to say I walked out of the store, extremely angry that I drove a half hour there for nothing. But, I went over to Toys R Us and found the Best of ECW Rey that I needed.

Kmart employees are the absolute WORST employees in the world. Over the last 2-3 months I've dealt with 3-4 different nasty employees who hate their job.
The worst was a few weeks back when I bought Elite 12 Daniel Bryan. I wanted to pay with Debit because last time I paid with credit despite putting in the right code on my card, their machines are so old and weren't working properly that it turned into a huge mess where my bank locked the account so I called them and figured out the mess. Well anyway when I say I'm gonna pay with debit the women says "you can't, you don't got ID". I'm like "Excuse me" and then I pull out my ID. The women just looks at it, hands it right back and rings me up without saying a word.
How can you say I don't have ID? Never did she say "yeah but you need ID". She just assumes I had no ID despite me being 24.
