Is it me or is the arenas crowd are a lot smaller then the use to be? I feel like back in the late 90's and early 00's they try and fit as many people possible in the the arena. Now to me it just seem so small.

It's the way WWE lights things now. Back in the 90s the crowds were not lit with colorful lighting. Now they put the focus on the ring by lighting it brightly and dimming the crowds with blue or red. Honestly I feel it hurts the atmosphere the way they do it now. I'm not a fan of how overproduced the product looks.
The crowds being lit up and being able to see thousands of people and a buttload of signs created a great aura of excitement.
The arenas are definitely not smaller, it's a lighting trick and/or optical illusion so to speak.

Maybe that is what it is. If I was running the WWE it would be a lot different then what they put on these days. Everything is so rushed these days.

Yeah the arena's used to look crammed whereas now it's really neat & tidy.

Definitely some kind of illusion thing.
The craziest thing to me, is when watching recent Wrestlemanias, the Hard Cam shows everyone sitting on the floor, then you can see the people in the risers as well and it looks like theyre really close...... then they jump to another angle and the first set of risers is like 40 yards away from the ring. Depth comes across really odd.
