The explanation: It's a popular figure. People want it, RSC raises the price, it isn't in store yet, people want it now, they pay over the top prices for it. IMO, figures shouldn't even be higher than $3- or $35 unless it is an exclusive and the quantities are low. It sucks, but there's nothing we can do

I was browsing RSC for fun tonight and stumbled across that too. I'm really shocked at the pricing. He was $30 on pre-order and has went up a bit since. It's something we've all complained about though...he'll be in retail soon enough, but unfortunately not in time for your nephews birthday

This has been asked many times on here, the explanations I see is that RSC doesn't have a direct distribution deal through Mattel so they charge extra to make a profit, that and the fact that it's a newly updated figure and won't be out in retail for a bit seems to make price goes higher.

There are a bunch on eBay, a guy from Australia. He says they come with accessories but they aren't pictured. He's pretty legit I kno ppl bought stuff from him.

I don't think that is correct. I believe Mattel sends RSC their shipment next day air from China so that right there is extra cost just for shipping. Plus, when the first initial preorders came out during early December, I believe he was only $19.99 or $24.99 just for the figure itself. That price won't stay since the demand is there for it and now it's on preorder again, I'm sure it's close to filling out the quota so they have to raise the price since they are running low. It's easy to see that it's the best figure from this series so I'm sure it's packed one per case and they have to raise the price to compensate for the Mysterio & Big Show figures that won't sell as quickly. Best thing to do is to preorder the whole series when it's first available and then just trade or sell the other figures. Or you can wait for retail and Elite 13 should be hitting the next week or so. RSC is a wrestling figure specialty store, thier prices will never be better than retail but if you preorder the whole set, each figure turns out to be $2-$3 more per figure if bought from the store.

I couldn't justify spending that much on a figure like that. If it was an exclusive then thats fine but not a figure from a main series, thats almost triple the price of one Elite figure over here. Save your money and get the Battle Pack one instead, or even a Cena figure.

I also the price jump a few days ago and had to do a double take. I agree with everyone else. Get the Rey/Cody battlepack. It should be at your local kmart and/or toysrus. He may not have a jacket or paper bag but it's still a good representation of his undashing gimmick.

Supply and Demand. Patience would solve this problem. Though since it is for a gift, you have to decide how much the gift would make your nephew happy and weigh it with the extra $$$.

The explanation is in your comment in that you spent 50$ to get it. If people will buy it why not charge it?

Where's the Whiners' Battle Cry of "Scalpers and Chumlees!"? If this were a private seller making a profit everyone on here would be pissing out of their eyes that profits are bad and "scalpers" shouldn't make money off buyers, but since it's RSC....must be cool, huh?

I want it so bad too, but I'm not ordering it for $50. I could get three elites I really want for that, minus shipping.

It is what it is, a collectors market with no other options. It sucks that figures of this quality and popular show drive this figures to insane prices. I mean $50 really I could buy some awsome figures 10 times better than a wrestling figure with a new Head scan, vest and bag. I would get some Neca figures for that money. To each his own I wait for retail.

Chewdeezy said it best! We should sticky his whole post do when people complain about pricing they have an answer! LOL.
Who told u to spend $50 on 1 fig??? You didn't have too. RSC can't order 35 Cody figures, they have to order 35 cases of E13. Therefore, they nee to do something to compensate for the shelf warmers.
Always order the whole set on the original pre sale and you will have figures at your door step 2 months before they hit retail with no hunting!

Me personally, I don't have a problem w scalpers. It's a free world. If people are crazy enough to overspend on an item, how can anyone blame the seller? I say good for the guy that gets $75 for E11 Punk lol

the same reason Joe Louis Arena charges me 9.25 for a 24 ounce beer, i want a beer, they are the only place i can get said beer, so its either bite the bullet and pay it or go beer less. simple supply and demand.

Scalpers also don't pay an arm and a leg to have the product as quickly as they can for their loyal customers. Like it has been said many times, RSC pays for next day air from the Mattel factory to have the figures as soon as possible. The only thing a scalper does is wakes up at 8am and hops in their mini van and goes to Toys R Us to grab up all the good figures from the shelves and double the price on ebay. RSC is a business, scalpers just do it for the extra money. If you want RSC to start charging retail prices, you can say goodbye to them within a month, and also goodbye to this forum. I really wish people understood even just a little bit about how things work.

I really wish people understood even just a little bit about how things work. Seems to be no difference to me. Both are in it for the money. I dont mind or care if RSC sells a figure for whatever amount of money. I understand that it is a business. Same with a "scalper" they can charge what ever they want. If someone is willing to buy something that is the reason the price is high up. I hate the term scalper. A person you call a scalper went to the store and paid RETAIL. Rsc gets a discount. I dont know what kind of discount but im sure they dont pay retail prices for their inventory. So why hate on a "scalper"? That person prob paid more than RSC for the figure. And PLEASE dont come on here saying RSC pays for next day deliveries. That is a cost of doing business. For all you know Mattel ships for free to them on a count of them ordering so much. Even if RSC paid for shipping dont try and use that to make RSC seem much better than a private seller. By your logic RSC is better cause they pay an electric bill to have lights on in the warehous. Or a Gas bill to keep the employees warm. Or a phone bill so they can process orders...... its just silly to me that you would say RSC is better than a private seller cause they pay for shipping. Mind you im not knocking RSC. I think they are great because they have a vast assortment of figures and are a respectable business. In my dealings with RSC I've had nothing but great experiences. Still though that doesnt make me hate private sellers. If you think someone is selling something for too much then dont buy it. If it's RSC, some other website, a private online seller, a seller at a flea market, whoever, just dont buy it if its too expensive. Dont knock a person/business for trying to make money. They wouldnt be selling it for 50 dollars if there was no one to buy it at 50 dollars. Put yourself in there spot. If you had something and people were willing to pay you what ever you asked, wouldnt you make the sale and make some money?
