I can definitely see that now. They can even further the legacy of Okada by having him win G1 as champion. Maybe undefeated? I guess the positive out of that would be no one would be out of the running for the title shot at Wrestle Kingdom yet.

After last night, I gotta change my prediction for G1 Finals. Moxley vs Okada, Okada wins. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be in the corner sad in the fetal position lol still holding out small hope its ibushi in the a block... but i think youre on the money. moxley is on fire right now, so i dont even mind him winning b block with all the savages in that block. i just dont wanna see okada run away with a block, hes the champ, hes one of the 5 best in the world right now, i get it. i just dont like the idea of the champ picking his opponent. the beginning of the naito/moxley match was absolutely gold. moxley absolutely charged up, naito tranquilo... simple, yet perfect storytelling.

I was shocked when Moxley pinned Naito. He must be staying in New Japan for a while after the G1.

Moxley's reaction after he lost to Yano was priceless. He had to lose since if he won everyone in B block would have been mathematically eliminated. same goes for the Sunday show.

Not everybody would’ve been eliminated. Juice Robinson and Jay White for example haven’t faced Moxley yet, so trailing 12 points to 6 with three matches left still would’ve kept them alive.

I honestly don't believe Juice has a chance of winning the block, Jay White would have to beat Naito and Moxley in order to have a shot.

Realistically, they’re just gonna either tease Naito coming all the way back or actually have him to do it. I guess it wouldn’t be totally shocking if he did, Moxley can just continue to break down mentally all because of Yano.

I think I am offended. Yano?!?! hes like their wild card g1 entrant every year. he got a win over omega, when omega was the champ, last year. hes basically a guy they can even out the standings with... who else could legit be booked to lose to goto in 2 minutes, and beat moxley by countout in the same tournament? hes a nice versatile personality to have. as we sit right now... i think its ibushi/moxley. i cant see them booking moxley to go on a total losing streak, to where he basically loses out. and i also cant see them letting okada hand pick his opponent. so, do they wanna do okada/moxley as the wk main event? ibushi over moxley, okada/ibushi at wk. makes the most sense to me. but what the hell do i know.

Oh yeah! What a match between Okada and SANADA! Love the drama of the final minutes of the time limit.

Just finished night 13 on my DVR. Man I’m glad Sanada pulled that off. I would say though that it would have probably been bigger for Ospreay to get that W.

hmm... so, based on previous g1s, they usually come down to the last day. a block seems pretty cut and dry... okada beats evil, ibushi beats zsj, winner of the final nights main event between those two, moves on. b block... if moxley loses to goto, then that leaves naito and jay white as both possibilities. if moxley beats goto, then only jay white has a reasonable shot. yes, i know other guys are alive, but i doubt theyre looking to end the g1 climax with ibushi vs juice robinson, or hirooki goto.
so, lets say moxley beats goto, which is reasonable (if he doesnt, the actual possibilities are endless). jay white beats juice, naito beats cobb, also logical. that puts mox at 12, naito at 10 and jay white at 10. white has the tiebreaker over mox, mox has the tiebreaker over naito. so lets say juice beats mox, to set up a logical us title rematch... that would seem to indicate theyre sticking with jay white, huh? if jay white beats naito, white wins the b block by tiebreaker. if naito beats white, then mox wins the tiebreaker.
and just for fun... if goto beats moxley, ishii beats takagi... in addition to naito over cobb and white over juice... moxley, naito, white, goto and ishii are all at 10. which makes the last day, and the tiebreaker scenarios, impossible for me to follow.

They do a good job at throwing us all around with our thoughts, I'll give them that. I think it's gonna end up what we thought and wanted in the first place, Ibushi vs. Naito. Kind of sucks for Moxley to win 5 in a row and then lose 4 in a row, but I guess it's not the worst thing in the world considering last year Omega won his first 6 and then lost the final three.

After todays show, Ibushi vs Naito in the finals could happen. I don't see Moxley beating Juice since i see Moxley dropping the title to Juice before AEWs debut. Worst case scenario, its Okada vs Jay White if Jay beats Naito. Other worst case scenario, Okada beats Naito in the finals.

If Naito is gonna win then Moxley can’t beat Juice. Unless they’ve got a surprise up their sleeves then the Moxley result will effectively determine the block winner. If Mox wins, then White beats Naito to win the Block. If Mox loses, Naito beats White to win the block.
If Ibushi beats Okada then I don’t really care who wins B Block, but if Okada wins I can’t say I’d be looking forward to a potential Okada/White finals.

they did a hell of a job throwing us off the scent this year, while still getting us to the result we all wanted/expected... ibushi vs naito.

I'm still predicting Ibushi is gonna win the A block and beat Okada. The B Block is gonna be be interesting with all the possibilities. Still hoping for a Naito/Ibushi finals.
