Why did Mattel release The Hurricane when he was released from WWE at the beginning of 2010? Is he the only figure who got released after they were fired?

im pretty sure Mike Knox (who came out in the same series) was released before his figure came out, and the Elite Gallows was out in stores after his release as well, and so was Mickie James I think

Because lineups and figure decorations for the main Basic and Elite lines are decided on almost a year before they hit store shelves. This is why everything is so outdated.
Chris Masters seems like he's been gone longer than he really has. He was released on August 5th, 2011 I believe. The Heritage Series with him in it started hitting in late November/Early December......so that's not nearly enough time to cancel a mass-produced figure.
Hurricane was also only released for about 4-5 months when his figure starting hitting stores. Just not enough time to cancel and take a loss on the cost of creating the mold, plastic, and making the figures and cards.
People are buying these figures regardless....Hurricane Helms is one of the most sought after WWE Mattel figures. So they clearly made the right move not cancelling it.

Depending on how far into production probably makes a big difference. Also, how they left WWE might also have something to do with it, too.

I'd rather they never cancel figures like that anyway. I have Knox, Hurricane, ect and really like them.

I got my Hurricane today from member jeremiah and it is an awesome figure. Sellers on eBay want an arm and a leg for Hurricane and any other 1 time figures.

I bought 3 Hurricanes and 2 Mike Knox when they were released and had to have left close to 30 hurricanes and Knox in stores. R truth was the figure everyone was going for in the wave.

I got my Huricane when it first hit stores, then found 1/1000 on clearance at an fye that was closing. One of the best looking Hurricane figures that has come out, imo.
