Hello everyone. I am a long time collector who has been out of the game for a while but lurked these forums on and off for many years. Recently I decided to get back into collecting for a special project and was wondering (as the subject states) if the entrance gear from Mattel Demolition Ax and Smash will fit the Jakks Ax, Smash, and Crush figures? Thank you in advance and I'm happy to finally be posting with everyone!

I just tried putting the Mattel gear on my loose CS Smash and Ax and it didn't work. The Jakks molds are just too big to accomodate the gear. For kicks, I tried putting the masks on some other RA's with slightly smaller head scans and again I had no luck.
Hope this helps.
Also, welcome to wfigs!

Looking at the Demolition pic with their full gear on makes me want to look for a set of loose Ax & Smash.

Damn! That is a big letdown. Any chance you could post a picture of the gear next to them so that I can see the size difference?

What's a big let down is actually looking at Jakks' versions next to Mattel's.

Why is Smash taller than Ax ? It should be the other way around.
The gear does not fit the Jakks Demolition figs.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome! Unfortunately I have NEVER been any good at making customs so it looks like I will be going the Jakks route on this one and miss out on the better gear. I would appreciate any additional thoughts or ideas regarding this project in the thread I linked above. Again, thanks for trying out the gear as this saved me a nice chunk of money!

Looks good! Although I would have preferred a more metallic silver paint myself (not trying to come across as a prick, just my personal preference).

If only Mattel made a Demolition Crush *sigh* I made one that has the same face paint as the one on the game Nice job, however for the silver part of the facepaint I would try using a Gundam Marker. If you can buy online, I would go for one of these. They provide a shiny metallic silver finish that I have personally used on different figures myself. For example, when I get a G.I. Joe and the blade of a sword is too dull looking, I use the Gundam Marker on it and it ends up looking amazing! It should be the perfect shine too for Crush's face. You can always test it out on a Mattel figure that you don't care about first just to be safe. Here's what you'd be looking for: www.gundamplanet.com/tools/gundam-marker/gm100-plated-silver-gundam-marker.html

I made one that has the same face paint as the one on the game What all did you use to make this? I used a Legends 4 Smash body and a R3 Kevin Nash head. I painted the head and then cut a little on the demolition head gear to make it fit as well.
