I would be mad if my Andre is stained. I'm a perfectionist I guess.

Lol, the 'stain' is barely even noticeable, you're just overreacting. ... and you're surprised by this? I swear, some people feel they are owed everything perfect in life. It's a minor stain and hardly noticeable.

I called the number on the box, they don't deal with issues from Matty Collector. They said I have to call Matty to get the issue resolved. Thx tho. That's bull! It's a Mattel product for Gods sake. I don't know if I would have accepted that answer. Have you tried any of these numbers: 1-877-466-2889, 1-866-585-3251, or 1-800-524-TOYS (1-800-524-8697). I haven't used them but others have with some success. I saw them posted on other boards and filed them just in case.

First post for me, but a long time reader.
This is the type of crap I was afraid was going to happen when the Legends went to Matty. The Rockers problem and the first Legend is going the way of MOTU. I was going to be done with the Legends line, but I thought I would give Matty one last chance. Havent recieved Rockers or Andre yet.
I dont know if any of you are MOTU collectors. But the first year was awful. Bent packages, two left or right feet, missing paint, paint smudges in package. I gave up on that line after the first 5-6 releases(which stinks, because there is some awesome toys out, but its not worth the headache). I kept up reading about it for over a year, and it seemed on going. Cant say for sure that it still happens, but I wouldnt doubt it. But I can say Digital River sucks.
The OP has a right to complain. Some may not care, some do. Im one of the ones that do. I get sick to my stomach reading on Hot Toy forums. Hot Toys range now from 150- to almost 300. And people still jump on others who get product that is messed up. I shouldnt have to fix my 260 dollar item myself.
This is the problem of online only, when you cant see what you are buying.

I agree with Hulkamania for life. It's easy to say he's complaining, but wouldn't you be upset if your Andre showed up and had something wrong with it? I'm a loose figure collector and pretty picky about paint jobs, so I most definitely wouldn't want a stained figure either. Not even counting the shipping, $20 is still too much for a figure that has something wrong with it. These figures are at a premium price point as far as collectible action figures go, and expecting it to not have stains on it isn't unreasonable at all.
I wouldn't file a credit card dispute, let Mattel's customer service handle it. They're great at making things right.

My Andre did show up with stains in the same exact spots. The ones on the arms and legs are hardly noticeable (as his pictures show) and the one on his chest a little larger, but when the singlet is up it covers it.
Really, this one isn't a big deal. The singlet isn't meant to be removed anyway.

Its barely noticeable and just a minor stains. I had a Legends 1 Ricky Steamboat with minor stains just like Adre too but i can live with that and move on. Its just maybe different people with different taste.
But I hope it gets sorted out for you.

For me, this always comes down to the same thing. If you bought a new car and the handle to the glove compartment immediately broke off, would you shrug your shoulders and say, "Well, it is a mass-produced car. Things like this are going to happen," or would you take the car back and make them fix it? Folks who are saying it's "no big deal" when you are paying $20 for a single figure are dangerously naive. "Charge whatever you want. I'll pay it." More like, "Sorry I spent all our money on wresting figures. I'm sure they won't cut off the electricity." Just scary. This!!!! You have every right to complain and try to get it fixed bro. I really don't understand why some people on here feel the need to defend everything Mattel does.

People don't understand that complaining is one of the best ways to make something better, and it helps EVERYone who stands to benefit in the end, not just the complainer. Did the colonists roll over and pay the King's taxes? Did women resign themselves to the fact that only men should vote? Did blacks accept their standing as second class citizens? Did wrestling figure collectors concede that it was okay for a Jakks Scott Hall to be taller than a Kevin Nash? No, no, no and no. And what was the result of the complaining and the action? Positive results all around. Maybe the Jakks collectors didn't see the benefits, like the first generations that fought for freedom, but the ancestors did. If this guy bitches, and if enough people bitch, Mattel will take notice, like they did with Jakks scale issues. Don't ever let someone tell you to just accept inferiority.

I'd be upset as well.
"Well you can cover it up". YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO COVER IT UP!
I'd understand if this was a first time case but this issue has been ongoing for quite some time now and Mattel won't fix it.

Its really nothing to get really upset about. Most mattel figures have stains on them Its because of bad paint jobs but If you need to just get a magic eraser and scrub at the stains they should go away very fast.

I would be pissed off as well. That figure is highly priced. So with that higher price I would expect a higher quality figure. The stains are enough for me to be pissed. People always are quick to bash Jakks. Jakks figs frequently had stains. So if Mattel is better why the same issue? They charge more, so why cant they have more quality control.
But what really would make me DEMAND either a refund, or exchange is the box. You got that figure off Matty COLLECTOR, they know its mostly COLLECTORS who shop on there. So as a collector you want your figs in mint condition. On top of which you paid a premium for delivery. So all that considered how is it a collectors item if when you got it, it was already damaged? Wouldnt the premium shipping mean not only a faster delivery but also better handleing of the item purchased?
Im with you Hulk, get on the phone with Mattel. Let them know. Demand they make things better.

This is for all the people who say Hulk shouldnt complain.
If you all are fine with mattel sending you a damaged/stained product does that mean damages and stains are ok? Do you go buy food that comes in a damaged package? Do you buy clothing that is stained?
No you dont, so why should your standards be lowered on figures? Figures, which btw, you pay considerably more for.

i wont complain about a toy , because its not something i NEED.. food i need , clothing i need.. as much as i would like to say i need toys.. i dont... so im way less critical about them..
and the car analogy from earlier... yeah , the glovebox messes up , im pissed.. because a car will cost me A LOT more than $28 and some change....

You're gonna file a credit card dispute over that? It's from the singlet. Just get some acetone and take it off, takes 5 minutes. dispute something like this is crazy. But, acetone can't remove this.

So the new material stains like the old stuff? Is the singlet is made from the new t-shirt material or the older stuff?
