youre joking right? the WWE is a piece of crap? ? CHRIS BENOIT MURDERED AN INNOCENT CHILD AND WOMAN!!!!!!!!If he went on a rampage in your town and killed your best friend....or your wife....or your brother would you care about seeing him in some stupid highlight video? He SHOULD be erased from all history. They shouldn't even acknowledge the fact that he was a champion...ever. Period. Chris Benoit wasn't a great wrestler, he wasn't a great champion, he shouldn't be remembered for his "accomplishments" Chris Benoit was a piece of dog crap and hopefully is rotting in the darkest part of hell Such a ignorant statement...

I think it's stupid to take him out. Seriously, he existed and he wrestled, if they don't want to promote him, for example this years' Royal Rumble promo, where they indirectly mention him. If someone doesn't want to see Benoit, they could easily just skip where he is, but us fans of him that do want to see him don't really have a choice but not to see him.

From a business stand point it makes little to no sense to show him on their programming or anything related for obvious reasons.
From a personal stand point, I couldn't care less about him killing his wife and kid, it didn't affect me or anyone close to me and things like this happen all the time in the world. I don't care about it when I hear about it on the news and I don't care about it here either, I seriously doubt most of the white knights on here that make it out to be the worst thing to ever happen are particularly bothered, either.

This was not an act of senseless violence, this was due to his mental health, you have ZERO ability to comprehend how mental illness can effect a human being, it can lead them to commiting such acts. Oh ok, that makes it alright then It doesn't make it alright, but there's a difference between a crime happening because someone's head was ed with to the point where it came to that and someone waking up going "I'll think I'll off my family and then myself later". I don't expect someone whose brain was as functional as an elderly man with a disease that leads to death not before affecting everyone around him (when he was no where close to that age) to be making great decisions and it's a shame that instead of trying to get help his brain told him to kill. But considering WWE is if nothing else indirectly responsible for this, to attempt to wipe your hands clean is no better than downplaying something like slavery in the U.S, which ed up people HAVE done. They got it right in the WWE encyclopedia. Mention Benoit as necessary (matches, notable scenes) but go no further than a mention. Don't need to put him on covers or his picture in the DVD menu, but I don't think just sticking his matches in there while showcasing literally everything else BUT that is overdoing it. But retconning shows you're scared of backlash and considering it's Vince McMahon, (who was willing to partake in incestuous storyline relationship and even 'taunted' God) I would think he would have a little thicker skin than this. Just a little. I mean I understand WHY the method, but it's been sometime, I think we can start mention in passing a little more.

In all fairness, the NFL still acknowledges OJ Simpson...

So if Chris Jericho goes out and murders someone, does that mean he wasn't a good wrestler either? For the people who are saying Benoit wasn't a good wrestler, you should get your head checked. I have no idea why you're posting on this board if you think Benoit was "average."

Benoit was a great wrestler, I don't give a f*ck who has anything to say against the matter. The murderer Benoit was unrelated to wrestling.
I do understand and think it is for the best for WWE in the mainstream level, to not show Benoit or refer to him on screen though.

In all fairness, the NFL still acknowledges OJ Simpson... Because he was found not guilty by a jury of his peers. Benoit was found dead inside his house with his family, and forensic evidence all over the whole house indicated that Benoit murdered his family, that no one else was inside the home during this time, and then killed himself. Two completely different things. One was found clearly guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt, and the other was not. I think a lot of you are missing the point. The WWE came under so much fire for airing that special tribute to Benoit, right at the same time that all the details were coming out regarding the murders. So because of the timing, it appears that the WWE was promoting and mourning the passing of someone who had just murdered his family and killed himself. They were beat down by the media, the government, other sports, and anyone else who decided to take a swing. WWE caused this to happen. WWE doesn't take care of it's wrestlers. WWE promotes violence and murder. If the WWE were to come out NOW with anything that slightly promoted Benoit or advertised him, it would look the exact same to those people. It would look, to these other entities, that the WWE was using the image of a murderer to sell something or get people to watch something. And these other entities that I'm mentioning are businesses like promoters and arena owners and toy companies and video game companies and television networks like USA and NBC. Do you think they want to associate themselves with a company that is being branded as a supported of a murderer? If you don't find the logic in that, then it's whatever. Think what you want to think. Benoit has a DVD out that follows his career pretty well. Want to watch his matches, buy that. But to say the WWE is in the wrong completely for not promoting him is just ignorant.

Oh ok, that makes it alright then I didn't say it's okay, murder isn't justifiable, but it's explainable, and it is not because benoit was a horrible human being, he was mentaly ill. The mans achievements should still stand.

Where any of us there to see him kill his family? They walked in there and found em' dead. Some alcohol was found on the ground near Benoit, he had none is his system apparently. Some pills that when mashed together cause drowsiness, only Chris had em' in him. Seriously, if you weren't there in person and saw him murder his family and then hang himself, why you making such a big ing deal about it.

Yeah you just had to throw this in there. You're so hilarious man I wish I had the 10 year old sense of humor that you do. Whats your next gag? Showing Owen falling from a chair into a replica ring? Moron.
