With the back and forth between WWE and the man himself, claiming that Shaq will or won't be wrestling at WM 28... I think I know where they may be headed with this.
As of now, Cody Rhodes is feuding with Big Show, with the focus being Show's embarrassing celebrity outings at WrestleMania. I think Rhodes will continue to get under Show's skin with this during the next couple weeks. Finally, when Big Show can't take it any more, he'll challenge Rhodes to a WM match, provoking him to try and put his money where his mouth is.
Rhodes will respond - "Oh, I've put my money somewhere all right. I've put it to someone who you know from a past encounter (Raw). Someone who I will be seconding at WM, as he faces you and keeps your "record" intact. This man, is none other than...Shaqullle O'Neal!"
This way, Show faces Shaq as speculated. Shaq is a defacto heel by the payola of Cody Rhodes, A babyface Show defeats Shaq to spite Rhodes. Shaq gets his WM payday and hype for WWE, and Rhodes continues their feud afterward by wanting revenge.
Just a scenerio that hit me not too long ago.

That's brilliant! Maybe too brilliant for it to actually happen, though. A great way to get Shaq into the story, too!

Rhodes not being in a match while Shaq gets his spot would piss me off a treat.

So have Cody, the Intercontinental Champion, miss Wrestlemania so a world-famous basketball player who probably can't wrestle can take his spot? Vince loves it.

I swear, WWE should check here for future creative writers.

It think its just WWE covering themselves. If shaq agrees to a match, this fued will set it up... if not this fued will just set up Show vs Rhodes

I was thinking perhaps it could be Cody vs. Show with Shaq as the enforcer or something.

I would have him as an enforcer, that way Cody and and Show have a match and Cody could bring him in for a body guard type deal.

Rhodes not being in a match while Shaq gets his spot would piss me off a treat. Teddy vs. Ace for him? I want the IC Title on the though, and I want someone to win it - Cody is a boring IC Champion.

TBH, anyone that thinks Rhodes/Show is a bigger draw than Shaq/anyone is out of their mind. Rhodes/Show may excite a portion of the built-in audience, but Shaq brings in a whole different group. With all of the promotion that his appearance would get on ESPN and TNT, it would be a smash no matter how bad the match is.

Shaq could always be in someone's corner. Maybe cost Big Show a match or help Big Show win.

Honestly. I don't think this thing with Rhodes is anything more than a contingency plan in case Shaq falls through.

Guys. SHAQ IS NOT GOING TO BE AT WRESTLEMANIA. He has prior commitments with TNT for the NBA. Get over it.
