I don't think it works that way. Plus, I don't imagine any store will let you bring 8 Ortons in for a refund. It's not like they can deny a return for no good reason. It's none of their business what you are doing.

If anyone would do that then it would be pretty pathetic honestly. You would have to go out of your way to buy figures and then go return them to a diff location. Who has time to do that?

Wouldn't it be easier just to buy them online?

I've never bought shelfwarmers from one store just to return them to another.....but.......
A few years back before the days of Mattel while we were all collecting Jakks figures, I did buy up some shelf warmers and put them in the Toys For Tots bin at Christmas. Our shelves were full of Spirit Squad, Mexicools, Classic IRS, and maybe a few others. I bought a few Adrenaline 2packs and a couple of IRS's and donated them.
I know I did have the selfish reasoning behind it of wanting some new figures to look through, but I thought it was a nice move. If you guys want to get rid of some of those shelf warmers and have a little extra cash...buy up a few of those Orton's and Cena's that are everywhere and donate them. You'll make some room for something new, and make a kid happy. Granted you're Cena's and Orton's would probably make kids happier than my Mexicools and IRS's, but thats all we had at the time lol.

To buy all these peg warmers to return it to another store out of town or even local is a waste of time and gas!!! I would just order online!!! Luckily my stores are pretty good where I live and when I'm looking for something and it's not on the pegs I just ask to see if there's any in the backroom!!!! That's what I did with E12 and they were flooded with BOE 2011!!!

That's too much trouble. I'd rather just shop at another store or just shop online. Target figure prices are to high anyway. I never shop there forr figures.

I always get the response of "Whatever is on the shelf is all we have", without anyone even bothering to look.

Once in TRU and target said they had more in the back so I asked someone. The one time in TRU the guy asked me if I needed help I said do you have anymore in the back and he looked and said yeah and brought the whole case out but it wasn't WWE. I have noticed lately going into TRU people have been asking if I need help though. As far as buying all the shelf Warmers go, I never have, I have bought a figure or two I didn't have and was a shelf warmer though. I would be to scared they wouldn't take them all back or something and I'd be stuck with them.

couldn't you just hide them? some places only stock from what the computer shows them.. if the comp is showing they have 8 left on the sales floor.. and they have room for 9 figures.. they arent restocking... and the same will work for reordering.. if they have a case in the back... and 8 figures on the floor.. so the comp is telling them they have 16 figures... there is no need to reorder... even if there isnt any hanging on the pegs and they are hidden who knows where...

I have had luck, in Target I had luck they bring me out the whole case of E12 and in TRU they have bring out cases of the new Marvel Legends and GI JOES and they even look up the computer sometimes!!! That's why I always find a way to get the item # to make it easier!! Now as for Kmart, they can stick it!! They just plainly suck and are no help at all!!

I had a gift card still left over from Christmas, so I finally got that Elite 4 Finlay that's been hanging in my Walmart for the past year and a half. It's actually a great figure, but had it not been tehre that long I wouldn't have gotten it. I honestly just got tired of looking at it.

I always get the response of "Whatever is on the shelf is all we have", without anyone even bothering to look. I usually get that line as well. It sucks when they won't go look or even scan the barcode to see an on hand. With me working at a store I know there are some times that you know for a fact that there isn't anymore of an item. Example: I've had people ask for printers and ink on back to back days, and after checking in the back room on the first day and if there wasn't a truck the night before I know there isn't anymore on the second day. On those occasions I usually won't go look. But most other times, I'll go take a look in our stockroom or at least will scan the barcode of the item. Our system is set up to not only show the onhand of the item, but to show if there are any logged in the backroom. The system does have its flaws but most of the time its fairly accurate.

My Wal-Mart is all over the place. Sometimes they will go months without restocking. Though they restocked the other week with basic 13 and then the other day set out elite 11, so they are pretty hit or miss. However there is still a elite series 2 Dibiase sitting there and has been since it came out. The legacy shirt has been taken out of it, but the figure is there and is discounted. Still no one will touch it. If it is there come the holidays I'll definitely buy it and donate it just to get rid of the darn thing (like someone mentioned above).
But yes the thought has crossed my mind to buy some of the shelfwarmers (if they aren't in my collection) and just hang onto them or give them to my niece and nephew.
