Stop Whining! -.- You can't have everything. Truthfully I think Mattel is doing great in providing us with figures so far. You want Legends yet they don't sell plain and simple. There's always Jakks Classic Superstars.

Serious question: Why do so many of the people on this forum consider the red and black outfit of the Legion of Doom as the 'iconic' one? I'm worried that you're even asking. Early 1990s WWF was seen by far more people around the world than 1980s NWA. If anyone's going to prefer an NWA/AWA era Hawk and Animal, it's going to be people on this forum. And it's very split even on here. I would be surprised if there were more than fifty people in the world who collect NWA figures and aren't on this forum. NWA-era figures are a much more niche product than WWF/WWE figures. This wasn't the logic you used when designing the figures, though. If it was, how do you explain Dusty Rhodes? Everyone seems to consider his WWF pokadots run as a joke, and he was the man in the NWA. If you wanted to make a stab at someone in series 1 having their iconic run/look in the NWA, Dusty should've been ahead of the LOD.

Serious question: Why do so many of the people on this forum consider the red and black outfit of the Legion of Doom as the 'iconic' one? They were far more successful and made far much more money for not only themselves but for the company they wreslted in when they wore the black pads with silver spikes. They were always considered main eventers in NWA They were rarely a main event act in WWF/E. So why is that the 'iconic' look? Because WWE is Iconic thats why......... WWE was big EVERYWHERE. All Across the World The Road Warriors were Big Stars on tv in the NWA. Legion of Doom Were The Top Tag Team on TV in WWF/WWE , They were also on/in PPVs, Magazines, Videogames, Toys, VHS, CD's, T Shirts ... etc etc etc. Media MDT, thats why, More people knew /know L.O.D over the Road Warriors , Not just on this forum But Everywhere, and you ask why? WWFs Bigger Than NWA For once i agree with pc83.... How You guys can ask why The WWE Look was more iconic is beyond me .... WWF/WWE Made NWA look like a backyard organization Serious question: Why do so many of the people on this forum consider the red and black outfit of the Legion of Doom as the 'iconic' one? You just answered your own question, if they were more iconic in nwa you would have called them the road warriors no?

Paragraphs are everyone's friend. I enjoy when they make the attires that we haven't gotten from anywhere before. IT makes them unique. If another LOD were made I want the gold spikes from SummerSlam. I imagine most people remember them as black/red because the WWE had the most eyeballs on the product and with them owning all the footage it's what they usually show for people to remember them by.

It would be smart for WWE to promote Matty Collector. Having links to the site from their site or something. Announcing when DDP and the rest are going up for sale. That is a good idea! It was all over their site when Andre came out.

I have no problem with the Road Warriors being how they were, even though the red looks better to me. If I had to give an iconic Road Warrior look it would have been NWA and driving the Spike through Dusty's eye would be their moment. Everytime their WWF runs started, them seemed to leave 2 months later.

This X1000 The MODs need to start locking repetitive threads/topics. The funny part is the same people keep posting the same thing in the threads like they can control themselves. Wait, somebody started a legends thread! I have to hurry up and post the same thing I did in the last 100 Legends thread. I will take 100 threads like this any day over another stupid "I just got this Randy Orton figure at Wal-Mart today, here's 30 pictures of it I just took" thread. At least we're having a discussion in threads such as these. I'm sick of seeing threads filled with pictures of the same figures we've seen a dozen times already, no one cares, and they're just an excuse for people to increase their post count with stupid posts like "cool pictures". THOSE are the threads that need to be locked instantly. I agree. I ignore those threads which litter the boards every day. Titles with stupid little sayings "Big Red Voodoo Findings!!!!!", and a thousand pictures of Kane and Shango from all different angles, sometimes with terrible attempts at poses, even though everyone has seen them a billion times before. Legends debates are far more entertaining to read than "Check out my awesome collection" with pictures of 8 common figures, followed by 87 replies by idiots saying "cool". Different people are annoyed by different things, but debating Legends, which like it or not will continue to be a hot button issue, actually breeds discussion, theory, idea, creativity. Not everyone has the best ideas, and a lot of people just bitch, but that's part of it. All other threads are just as repetitive and usually take up pages and pages.

I don't think I ever referred to them as "LOD", they were always the Road Warriors. If they had never stepped foot in one of Vince's rings they still would have deserved slots in 1 of the first 3 Legends series.

Well honestly I think you can thank the mattel and the fans for the line failing. They announced legends, and the boards lit up with people saying they wanted the legends to be different than the ones jakks did. Sadly the because of the internet those fans, though might be few, were loud and mattel stupidly listened. Mattel should have just gone with the classic attire, even if jakks already did it. Prime example of the few being loud is the poll they put up for the matty legend line. by it being broken it gave the few the chance to sit there are vote hundreds of times a day for figures that they wanted. Now we are getting a bunch of weak characters. I am honestly not buying any legends from matty collector because they aren't in my interest except maybe ms. elisabeth...you need to have a solid line up for the start of a online line. But matty failed, they listened to the wrong fans.

I rather see ppl's fix ups or set ups than the same losers pointing out the obvious of y the legends line wasn't a success.

No offense taken, Apoc, I wasn't aiming that part at you either, lol. I was just thinking back to the old days. I could never get used to calling them Legion of Doom. Thanks for blowing holes in my "legal reasons" theory ;D. I was too lazy to pull out the Mattel carding or find an internet image. I will Google next time .

I wasn't going to add to this thread but it looks like MDT is actually reading it, and they usually ignore me when I bring up those darn leg sleeves Anyways, I'm a huge Road Warriors fan - anyone that knows me on this board knows that I'm pro-NWA. I grew up with Crockett Promotions and I wish you guys could make the entire roster! So I'm very grateful that we have the Road Warriors. But MDT, there is absolutely no excuse for not re-releasing these guys in red & black. The Road Warriors were the most dominate tag team before cable, however the majority of the world knows them in the red & black. I get that you'll re-release Savage, Warrior, countless Cenas and Ortons - but really, there's no excuse for not releasing a red & black LOD ~ there is little to no tooling involved, just different paint apps!!! Don't you guys want to make money too? And I love that we're eventually getting Arn & Tully but who is kidding here? They'll rot on Mattycollector worse than your precious Rockers and Andre. C'mon man get your heads in the game.

Simple answer, " MOST" arent old enough to remember the Road Warriors when they were actually main event caliber wrestlers. The only legends figures I was disappointed with were Slaughter, Pillman, Dusty and Bam Bam

Okay, I tried to stay away but.... I think I can sum up in one word why Mattel's Legend line isn't selling as well as Jakks classics used to - standards. Take Rick "The Model" Martel for example, Jakks threw an outdated Strike Force head on an over sized torso. They had the decency to add a sweater for over his shoulders. Of coarse we bought it. Haven't had a Martel figure in 20 years. While Mattel made him a new boot mold with extra long laces knowing full well they most likely will never use them again. Most fans wouldn't have even noticed Martel always had long laces, but Mattel did it anyway. Add that to the great head scan that they would never even try to use for a Strike Force version of Martel, a detailed coat with his trademark button, & finally his can of Arrogance. Overall it dominated every thing about the Jakks figure, except they probably spent more to make theirs. (And yeah, Mattel dropped the ball with Snuka, but even HOF baseball players strike out every now and then.)Mattel's standards far surpass what we got from Jakks. But at the time we ate up everything Jakks put out because we didn't know how good it could be. And in my opinion those standards cost Mattel money. But if I would guess, they would rather do that then release an inferior and incomplete product. I totally agree with your entire post on this. The Jakks figures sold so well because aside from your Hasbro's when did you get a Big Boss Man figure with the Blue Uniform on? Granted it was nearly as detailed as the Mattel version, but it came out first and we all spent our money on it. Mattel had some piss-poor marketing for their legends line, especially with the selections they used. Even look at the "Series 1 2-Packs" that are at Toys R Us, not only are they on clearance, but they have like 8 of EACH at my local TRU and my local store carries barely anything WWE related lol. Bad marketing and poor line-ups is what led to the Legends line failing and being cancelled....Sadly, I may add.

It's absurd to say there are only 50 NWA fans that aren't on this forum. Seriously. You rendered your point useless by saying that. However, the red is considered the iconic LOD outfit. They used it in WWF, WCW and even at times in NWA. It became their most photographed outfit. I for one loved the old school Road Warriors outfit that you guys gave them... But I would eagerly buy the red version of the tights as well... Also count me in for a blue attire as well. I don't think it had so much to do with WWF being bigger than NWA or that there aren't that many NWA/WCW fans (there's millions of them) but most people still consider the red and black as the iconic attire of LOD.
