I am just realizing that this is the perfect forum to ask: has anyone heard of any plans for TNA & Jakks to run a line of 3.75" figures?

I won't buy them.
It's bad enough I buy Rumblers.

Mattel's DCIH line was how 3.75" figures SHOULDNT be made. It is bad enough WWE Basic and Elite are being outsold by Jakks UFC. If Mattel's 3.75" WWE line looks anything like DCIH, they will not even compete with Jakks UFC Bring it On or any of Hasbro's 1564135416 3.75" toylines. Why do people still believe that Jakks UFC outsells Mattel WWE? The UFC line hasn't had a new series in nearly a year and most major retailers won't be carrying it as it switches to be TRU exclusive.

I mean there was this and then the whole thing bout UFC outselling Mattel wwe which is also not true!

I'm actually pretty excited to see how this line looks like. I don't need too much articulation, but as long as it's not like the GL or Young Justice line, I'll most likely pick them up. I have several figures in the 3.75' scale, so these would be a welcome addition.

The worst part is that Mattel just released 3 3/4" Voltron pilot figures on MattyCollector and these too have crappy articulation. Great sculpting and paint jobs, but poorly executed articulation, and his gun is permenently sclupted to this belt, but yet has a gripping hand for one??? At $15 a wack for these I'd like to think Mattel would have put their best foot foward and made these figures amazing. See for yourself. Skip to 4.00 to see the articulation review.

I'm looking forward to seeing them and will probably collect them (depending on my finances and if the current lines slow down), but I think they could turn out badly as well, given the Mattel 3.75" figures I've seen so far. I'm fine with it as long as it doesn't take too much away from the budget for Elites. Why would it? That makes no sense. Why do people still believe that Jakks UFC outsells Mattel WWE? Nobody believes that. It's just that one guy's troll gimmick.

I didn't buy the other scales of Jakks, and I don't think I'll buy those of Mattel.

I *just* read Mattel was/is planning on releasing a 3 3/4'' WWE line and the idea alone made me grab my head in joy and disbelief.
Needless to say i have no doubt the legion of 3 3/4'' collectors will go ape **** over Mattles new 3 3/4'' figures and buy them up in droves just like Build N Brawl if not more.
Hell ..people are still buying Build N Brawl figures on the secondary market in droves.
Al Mattel has to do is shrink down their elite figures and they have a new source of income.

I dont see how them scrapping either the elite line or basic line in favor of these regardless of if they took off. That would anger alot of people. The Basic line and Elite ones are the only ones people care about. And i agree, the figures would still be at least 7.99 to 8.99 each, I say why bother. Given Mattels track record and peoples initial reluctance to start new collections it probably wouldnt last more than a few series, just like all the others theyve cancelled. Could be wrong.

I would have gladly bought into this scale if they launched with it, then they could've scrapped the piss-poor excuse "well jakks already did that attire" for the initial legends. I would have loved a collection with smaller figures, a smaller elite scale ring to match them, and smaller accessories because that means less space in my man cave. But it's too late now. There is no way I am re-buying Cena, Bossman, Triple H, Bret Hart, etc. for a new scale.
If Mattel stops with elites as we know them then I'll just stop collecting. All I really need anyway is Sting, Hogan, Flair, Razor and maybe the Steiners. Anything else is just gravy. But my federation is so stacked it's unreal.

Maybe i've been spoiled by other toy companies but i've never understood why the forum posters always bring up larger scale figures in a 3 3/4'' to 4'' WWE wrestling figure thread.
Mattel is a huge company. Fans don't have to choose between 2 different scales Mattlel can make both (Avatar was in 2 different scales. DC figures were in 2 different scales), have made both (basic, elite and Rumbler) and will make both .
If you like larger scale figures great.
Mattlel can make additional money from fans like myself that will only buy 3 3/4'' WWE figures.
The larger figures look great but i don't want a large scale figure collection.

Maybe i've been spoiled by other toy companies but i've never understood why the forum posters always bring up larger scale figures in a 3 3/4'' to 4'' WWE wrestling figure thread. It's because people don't want time, attention, and shelf space taken up by something they may not be interested in. TRU or K-Mart is only going to give Mattel a certain amount of space for their WWE stuff. We now have rumblers, flex force, basic, elite and brawlin' buddies. Not to mention kid-size belts and figure rings for all scales (minus elite now). That's a lot of space. For me, I only collect elite-styled figures. The more toys Mattel makes for WWE the less likely they will have space for what I want. Is what I want more important than what you want? No. But I am one man with one opinion (as are you). If I feel that a 3 & 3/4 inch scale might detract from what I think should be Mattel's main focus, I'm going to say so. It's like a new video game where resources are spent on gimmicky additions and not on actual gameplay. It feels the same way. If Mattel is expanding their business and hiring new developers to their staff to handle the extra line, then that makes things better. But unless all WWE stuff sells well then TRU and Kmart (and Wal-Mart) aren't going to surrender much more space to accommodate more stuff. Something's gotta go. I just don't want it to be my thing.

That i can understand . I don't collect the Elite figures but i think they are incredible pieces of art and toys. I would be thrilled to have 3 3/4'' figures that were 95% of what the elite figures are the way that Build N Brawl were smaller versions of Deluxe Aggression figures. Collectors wont have to choose between THIS or THAT if 3 3/4'' figures are produced. Mattel has already proven that. They can produce both and retailers will carry both (i'm looking at DCUC and DCIH being on the shelf at the same time). Besides...if anything needs to go it's Flex Force and Rumblers heh . Mattel WWE Elite = Untouchable (in my opinion). They are great figures despite my not collecting them. Mattel WWE Basic = I personally don't understand how someone would want a Basic over an Elite figure but i do understand there are collectors who have long established collections of RA / Basic style figures. Mattel WWE 3 3/4'' (mini elites) = Why would Mattlel NOT make these when so many fans want them? It's like turning down money and it doesn't detract at all from their up - to - now core lines. The larger lines aren't going anywhere. There is no need to **** on what 3 3/4'' fans want out of fear that larger scale fans are going to lose their lines. it reminds me slightly of Marvel Legends fans being intimidated / concerned with Marvel Universe (the smaller "legends" line). They both still exist and everyone is happy. Especially Marvel universe fans who have tons of figures that now take up less shelf space than their larger Legends versions.

I wish they'd consider doing a Hasbro style line.

If these smaller scale figures can do all the following things then I may buy them:
1) Keep retail prices below $10.
2) Produce legends, starting with iconic attires of guys they already made.
3) Produce an 80s style WWF ring to scale with these figures.
4) Produce waves that are twice as large as elite waves to assure they are serious about producing an entire, broad-reaching line. (8 current, 4 legends). I'd start a new legends collection if they introduced the right figures in series one and foretold of more great guys in the subsequent series. Legends could be Bret Hart in pink and black, Undertaker (styled after his EG), The Rock styled after his EG figure, and Stone Cold. The next wave: Sgt. Slaughter, Macho Man, LOD Animal, LOD Hawk.
I couldn't pass that up.
