Something about the city of Brotherly Love
RAW returns to Philadelphia, PA for the first time since the night after TLC where tonight The Rock has a surprise for a potentially banged up John Cena, who earlier was in a car accident. A week after some controversial song lyrics from both men, will The Rock's surprise 'bring it' less than two weeks before he returns to WrestleMania to face the leader of the CeNation? How will Cena fare in his match with former World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry?
WWE Champion CM Punk defeated The Miz to the surprise of no one last week, but the story of Punk's night came after that. Chris Jericho came on the TitanTron and revealed to the world (that didn't see Punk's feud with Raven) that Punk's father was an alcoholic. CM Punk was left speechless, likely just what Jericho wanted to happen. Has the Best in the World at everything he does gotten into the Best Wrestler in the World's mind with the use of his father's past, and if so, will it ultimately lead to Jericho having the advantage in his and Punk's WWE Championship match at WM?
Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker had a confrontation last week and to be honest, I don't remember much. The gist of it was Undertaker told the 2011 Hall of Famer that if his third WM match with Triple H is impure due to Michaels playing favorites, then things will not be pretty for the Heartbreak Kid. Shawn patronized The Undertaker by patting him on the shoulder before leaving. All three men involved in the Hell in a Cell match will be in the ring together tonight, but will they grow tired of talking and get physical? Probably not, but we can hope.
The 12-man tag battle for ultimate power at WM continues to take shape, most recently with Christian announcing he would be on Team Johnny, though it did take the promise of a future World Title shot for Johnny to acquire the two-time World Heavyweight Champion. Kofi Kingston and R-Truth, along with captain Santino Marella are the known members of Team Teddy as of writing, while Mark Henry, Christian and captain David Otunga are confirmed for Team Johnny. With time to get team members ticking, will there be any more announcements of who joins either Mr. Excitement or Thadeus Long's team tonight? Will Zack Ryder's Ryder Rally before RAW earn him a slot on Team Teddy as he wants? If Ryder wants his Rally to work, he should borrow some Rally towels from Ricky Ortiz. If the towels could seduce Tiffany, surely they can earn Ryder a spot on Team Teddy!
Also worth noting is that Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes joined Twitter (@codyrhodeswwe) and continued his mockery of Big Show at WrestleMania, only further agitating his WM28 opponent. World Champion Daniel Bryan cost Sheamus a match against Jericho on SD which made the challenger to Bryan's World Title at 'Mania angry, a mood you never want Sheamus to be in. Kane explained that he's attacking Randy Orton because he shook Orton's hand after a loss last Summer, which Kane saw as the moment that made him weak. Well, at least they came up with a reason for the feud. Finally, the Divas will be in tag team action at WrestleMania 28 in a match pitting Divas Champion Beth Pheonix and resident Hoeski Eve Torres against Kelly Kelly and the host of Extra Maria Menounos. Will Menounos keep her undefeated record in WWE in tact at WM, or will the Glamazon and new-attitude Eve be too much to overcome?
All of that and hopefully Brodus Clay live at 9pm/8c, only on USA Network.
