Not to be whatever, but it's from the same guy who said Melky Cabrera would be suspended weeks before it happened....... Melky Cabrera and 4 superstars. One is plausible, the other is a major shot in the dark. 2 were already connected to roids. Id be really surprised if this is true, but I doubt it I mean, I totally agree, Melky was a borderline 4th OF until he started taking whatever he took and started playing like an MVP and then failed the test, so it was pretty obvious what caused his performance to "enhance", lol. I'm just saying that this "tip" is from the same person who said Melky failed weeks before the news broke....so yeah, Melky was not and is not a player of the same caliber as Braun, A-Rod, Cano and Granderson....but this man clearly has a source, so he might have information, regardless of the importance of the player in question.

Awesome, Teixeira is going to be out for at least 10 weeks now too. And with something like a wrist injury, I'm this this will linger and pretty much ruin his entire season. At least with Grandersons broken arm, once it heals it's healed.
The Yankees are going to be awful this year. Too many injuries already, and these injuries are happening to the "young guys". We've got guys in their early 30's going down right now, I can't even imagine what's going to happen to the guys who are around 40 or older.
Youkilis is going to have to play 1st base and Nunez/Nix are going to have to split time at 3rd I'd imagine.

The Yank have enough 1B/DH types like Youk and Hafner to make up for Teixeira and A-Roid's production

Well, if awful equals competing for the WC at the very least and probably the division then yes they will be awful.

I still cant see them playing Hafner at first even with Tex injured.

I still cant see them playing Hafner at first even with Tex injured. They already said they wouldn't. Hafner hasn't played a defensive position since 2007, and except for 2010 he's been injured every year as only a DH. Youkilis will probably have to play 1st base and Nix/Nunez will probably split time at 3B.

Mo has officially stated he will retire after 2013. Not really a surprise to anyone though. He'll be in Cooperstown in 2018.

Not gonna lie, I really hope the idiot writers dont penalize Rivera for being a closer and make him wait a year.
I only feel comfortable about Maddux going in first ballot, the others who knows, Griffey maybe but they might think he juiced?
Idiots.

Well, they are already penalizing Lee Smith for being a closer apparently. I didn't realize Griffey hit 630 HRs. Seems like he was constantly injured.

Griffey is easily the best player of my generation. He really broke down towards the end though.

I remember a sportswriter doing simulated stats on what Griffey wouldve done if he played near-full seasons in 2001-2004. He wouldnt have hit more HRs than Barry Bonds, but he wouldve gotten over 700 at least.

Give him a few more full seasons and he'd easily have over 700 HRS and more than 3k hits as well.

Anyone on here paying any attention to the World Baseball Classic? Team USA had a great game last night, and today's game is looking just as good! David Wright had a clutch 2 out, 2 strike grand slam that turned out to be the difference for team USA.
Analysts and coaches alike have said that Wright is the leader of this American team. The way the players reacted when he connected — not just to the moment, but to the player who came through — made it evident that wasn’t just bluster. David Wright is Captain America!

Joe Torre sat Michael Stanton so "He could get everyone in the game" and then put Heath Bell in.
That sums up how important the WBC is

I know it's not for everyone but the WBC is better than watchin spring training games.
The last 2 USA games were great to watch and I am looking forward to seeing them play in the next round. Lets go team USA!!!

I think it is because no one expects the United States to be the best at baseball anymore. Basketball and football sure but not baseball.

Brian Cashman is trying to get Chipper Jones to come out of retirement to play 3rd base for the Yankees. Cashman plans to call Chipper's agent and offer a huge amount of money for 1 year.
I'm sure it won't work and I don't even know why Cashman is even bothering talking about it. Seems pretty foolish to talk about something like that publicly.
