From WrestleNewz.com
- As noted before, WWE will be bringing back the No Way Out pay-per-view this year on June 17th from East Rutherford, New Jersey. The new No Way Out DVD synopsis indicates a format change for the event. Rumors a few months back were that No Way Out would feature more cage matches, similar to TNA’s Lockdown pay-per-view. The synopsis below indicates cage matches with various stipulations. Here’s the DVD synopsis: “After a three year hiatus, WWE No Way Out is back and recharged! The annual pay-per-view that became notorious for its brutal, main event Steel Cage Matches gets reincarnated, but this time the Superstars of WWE will take the thematic event a step further, as they find new and innovative ways to prevent opponents from escaping. All stipulations in place, which may include Lumberjack, Strap, Chain, Steel Cage, Handcuff Matches or more will ensure no respite from the chaos inside the ring.”
Sounds interesting.

Could be a great ppv. This summer should be one of the best ever for the WWE!

I'm so sick of seeing WWE rip of TNA's ideas on PPV's. ANd sure, nobody here will agree with that statement, but they destroyed the Hell in a Cell with a PPV dedicated to that match, they killed the TLC matches.... Whats left.. Oh Yeah, Cage Matches!
Enough of these damn gimmick PPV's. That's what 'the other company' does and WWE can do better then that.

TNA does not have a monopoly on gimmick PPVs. They do have the monopoly of having the PPV pay off end on free tv the next week...

I think it ruins the matches a bit having PPVs solely dedicated to one gimmick. Would much prefer they brought out the gimmick matches as surprise stipulations throughout the year, like they gave Taker/HHH the HIAC stip at WM.

I don't think it means gimmicks + cage matches - just that all the matches will have some "You can't escape from your opponent!" element to it; be it a cage, lumberjacks, strap, etc...

I'd love to get a decent strap match at the pay per view.

There is a way out of a cage...that's how you win.
Anyway, apart from that! Love it.

It's fair to say these gimmick PPVs spawned from both poor buys and when they came into effect TNA were trying to start a challenge and TNA's most notorious PPV is the all-cage Lockdown so they probably saw that and thought lazily we'll do that with our gimmicks and solve both the buys and one of TNA's USPs - one which does stand out for them. They are horrible events which have killed the novelty of the match types.

It's not even a cage only PPV, so I don't see how it's ripping off TNA.....

Another extreme-sounding pay-per-view two months after Extreme Rules? Huh.

Cage matches have been crap since they've been able to escape THROUGH THE ING DOOR!

Did none of you read that the matches have stips to keep the guys in the ring? Its not all cage matches its Cage, Lumberjack, chain, strap matches etc. Its not an all cage match PPV.

Cage matches have been crap since they've been able to escape THROUGH THE ING DOOR! So, every cage match since at least the 90s?
