With my new found weight loss (60+ lbs gone) I'm getting back into the idea of biking. I'm looking into a Schwinn Hybrid for around $300. I want to spend the extra $ on a good bike rather than half ass it and get a cheap piece of junk. I'd use it to get to and from work and even to get around locally since the city life is so easy. Think it's a good investment? It saves me bus fare for work every day and it's also going to be used for general exercise.

I think you should go to McDonalds and eat as many cheeseburgers as you can. Biking is not necessary.

Classy. I have a Schwinn, and it has served me well for several years. I am an avid biker. When I was in England I used to bike from Nottingham to Derby when the weather permitted. It was excellent exercise, and gave a great sense of accomplishment. Good luck, and keep up the good work.

I had one of those BMX/trick bikes (whatever they are called) when I was like 12 or so (and younger). As an adult, I don't have much of a need to go off ramps and sh*t anymore. I guess it would be fun... but I think a mountain bike is more my style as a grown up. I like my mountain bike - no homo. I use it for exercise... and that's about it.

I'd just get a road bike, by the sounds of it, you don't really need a hybrid.
