... As to how everybody collects their figures. Do you just buy Basics only? Elites only? Mix of both? Does anybody buy just the basics and then buy things like the Elite accessories by themselves from EBay or somewhere else? Or maybe a custom t-shirt maker? How do you buy/collect your figures? Just wondering this...
Me personally I mix both, but lately it's been getting to my wallet. Kind of looking for a cheaper way to do it if possible. I notice some custom t-shirt maker's sell their homemade shirts for like $6 a pop which isn't bad, and I see from time to time that Elite accessories are on EBay by themselves, so just wondering.

I buy a mix of both, but once my collection grew, I also decided that I needed to scale it down.
I buy all CM Punk figures because he is my favorite. I started buying just the first figure of everyone else unless their attire changes. I often buy accessory lots just to put the shirts on the basic figures. This way, I can wait and buy the elite version if I see if cheap on ebay or elsewhere.

just elites. Though there is maybe 5 or so basics I think look great.
Plus i'm jealous of how quick the basics turn-around is. Not to mention the Basic line gets guys that we'll never see in elite.
If i collected just basics I would probably buy elite accessories off ebay or the classifieds here.

I started out buying legends, defining moments and entrance great figures. Once I got pretty much every one I wanted I moved on to elites and now am buying some basics too and online exclusives. Im probably only going to buy 1 or 2 figures from each elite set from here on out. Pretty much all flashbacks, with a possible current roster guy if the figure is cool and has nice accessories. I may stop collecting, it really depends on what comes out in the next year or so and the prices and availability of the figures.

I buy elites and divas, and basics of figures that I don't think will get elites. Now, of course, I just bought Zeke and then came to find out he will be getting one. So, sometimes I end up getting both.

Only elite style figures for me. It's actually cheaper for me since I usually buy FB and legends

Basics, have only seen Elites 2 or 3 times. Plus they are dear anyway, I don't collect so much now, which is somewhat good as it saves me money.

I buy mostly elites, however I buy basics if they haven't made an elite yet, like Funkasaurus, or if I can't find the Elite, like Tyson Kidd.

Everything sounds pretty familiar to me so far. Maybe I'll hit up these classifieds on here for some accessories. It sucks bc I can't really afford to keep collecting as much as I'd like. I'm trying to see ways I can do it. I can't wait for the new scale to see what it's gonna be like. I've pushed and pushed for that on here with threads detailing what I'd like to see it be. As long as it had the same accessories like Elites and like rings and everything, and of course Legends and Divas, I'm all over that.

From the figures I use, I have 35 Elites and 6 Basics. Then there are extras which are mostly basic.

I do mostly basics. They're cheaper and cover the roster in a more diverse fashion.
I only save Elite for my most favorite superstars or extremely special figures (like E13 Rhodes, we'll never see his mask again and they even gave him the paper bag... so epic). The only other time I'll 'collect' elites if they're on clearance for the same price as basics of guys I don't have figures of (Bourne and Del Rio so far).
I guess in general I am pretty picky and selective with who I buy. I never felt the need to buy guys like Christian/Big Show/Triple H/Miz/Morrison/Kofi because I have Jakks ones of those guys, and I don't love them enough to update (well, maybe christian, but I despise his mattel scan). I like Punk's figures because he is diverse enough, but he's not (yet) overmade (like Rey). I never will buy another Rey figure aside from my two 1/1000 finds.

I have every elite 1-15 minus yoko, & I would like to only collect elites, but I get bored waiting for updated elites and new series, so I collect basics in the meantime

See that's mostly what I do too(for the moment). I just try to collect everybody whether it's basic or elite and try to get the best figure of everyone whichever one it is and, of course, most current. You guys hit the nail on the head about the basic turnaround vs elite turnaround, and basic gives us the full roster, etc. I just wish there was one line of figures that didn't short on accessories, included everybody, and was released in a timely fashion and not 1 year later we get Jinder Mahal, Sin Cara, etc. And Legends too, not leaving out anybody possible! Know what I mean? And I'm hoping the new scale next Spring will be that, at least for me. I see no appeal in FlexForce and Rumblers, although I will say some of that stuff is pretty cool and would've been cooler when I was 7.

And another problem is that Mattel's distribution is beyond crap. I want to be able to find this stuff any place I want. And I HATE this short-packing crap they do.
