TNA X-Division star Anthony Nese has been released by the company effective today.
Nese, who's been one of the best talents in the Northeast for some time, was signed in December 2011 during the time period where the company began beefing up their X-Division with new names.
The release came when Nese was booked to headline the Pro Wrestling Syndicate iPPV in Rahway, NJ on 6/1, teaming with Sami Callihan against The Great Muta and Kai.
Nese, who TNA had not used in months, contacted TNA to let them know he wanted to have the chance to work with Muta and asked for permission to do the iPPV. During the conversation, TNA told Nese he contractually could not work the iPPV.
Nese was then offered his release, which he accepted.
What do you guys think? Personally I don't mind it at all... he wasn't a important factor in IW anyway.

Probably not the best long term move, but if it's his dream to wrestle Great Muta, all power to him.

I kinda liked "Lil' Chris Masters". But I'll live.

TNA missed the boat with this guy IMO, I'm bummed. Although he wasn't used much, he is a good wrestler with potential. There goes another X-Division contender as well. More power to him though, I'd give up TNA who rarely uses me to wrestle Muta as well so I don't blame him.

Smart move by him, considering TNA not utilising him to the best of his potential...good on him to be able to wrestle The Great Muta on an iPPV.

Better clear out all the real wrestlers to make room for Brooke Hogan!
I thought he was good but no one's gonna miss him. Smart on his part, stupid on TNA's part.

Better than Jesse Sorenson and Zema Ion tbh.

I only saw a couple of his matches however I liked him for the most part.
I don't know why TNA didn't just let him do that match and stay? Not like they had anything for him to do recently anyways.

I've never understood how TNA can sign guys to contracts, not use them and essentially hold them hostage from making a real living, and expect them to want to continue working for the company. This is why the Young Bucks no longer work in TNA. I would guess guys like Low Ki and Petey Williams are probably making way more money on the indies than they would in TNA.
I don't blame Neese at all. If WWE is really going to feature a cruiserweight division by the end of the year, he should make a phone call. Seems like a talented kid with a good look for WWE TV.

Nice to see a wrestler do something they want to do, rather than just stay with a company because of it's size.
Very talented wrestler, TNA's loss this time.

Probably not the best long term move, but if it's his dream to wrestle Great Muta, all power to him. THIS. The only way this would be a wise move is if he dreams to work in Japan and he planned on showing Muta something amazing in hope of work. Easier said than done. God knows what he'd have to do to impress somebody the satus of Muta in the ring.

Nobody but Callihan is gaining anything from this match. Mark my words.
