Am I the only one who wishes that Mattel would release wrestlers from the attitude era, WCW, ECW and also beef up the amount of legends released?
It was astounding looking back at how Jakks pulled it off. They had wrestlers from all era's and companies in ONE series (I'm referring to the CS line) which made things simple for them. Even outside of the CS line, whether it was RA or DA style articulation they managed to include some really great names into their lines as well.
With Mattel it just seems like we get way too many wrestlers from the current roster and not enough people from the past. I'm sure I'm not the only one that is upset with the ridiculous amount of Cena's, Rey's or Orton's released. I'm not saying repaints are a bad thing, but Mattel has sort of shot themselves in the foot by releasing so many repaints of the same people so often.
Their focus seems to be on keeping the line as updated and current as possible. The problem with that is what we're seeing currently amongst all of their currently offered lines. I feel that it would benefit Mattel, and obviously all of us as fans/collectors if they expanded the lines that they offer so that they could release a more diverse and interesting assortment of figures rather than the same old things over and over again.
Thoughts?

The legends line no matter if people want to admit it or not was a huge failure and it wasn't any fault of Mattel. Mattel provides you with high quality merch where as Jakks provided us with the same parts, horrible paint jobs and missing accessories the difference is Mattel was put in a situation where the economy blows and there is less of a demand because Jakks already flooded the market with things.

This. It doesn't benefit anyone but a very specific portion of collectors. The Legends line was a failure as said due to the poor economy and oversaturation. Doing the Legends line again would not solve any of these issues.

Mattel would have sold a lot better if Jakks didn't do it first. The collectors of Legends now just isn't enough to buy up all the Legends figures produced by a big name toy company.
I hope Mattel will try to reboot the Legends like next year since Flashbacks seem to be doing good but I highly doubt it. Our only hope is that Legends survive on Matty so that we can get more Legends. Otherwise, it's just going to be flashbacks from now on.
