Hello everyone I was thinking about getting a gamefly membership and was wondering if anyone has had experience with gamefly.

I've used it for a couple years now. My word of advice: if you want to play brand new games when they come out, you have to game the system a bit. For instance, you want nothing on your list of games besides the game you want leading up to when it's out.
Depending on your distance from a shipping center (there's like 5 or so now), games arrive between 2-5 business days from when they ship. I typically get mine in two days.
Let me know what you want to know.

I did a trial of it.. It took a LONG time for games to arrive, a good 60% of the games I wanted weren't available (and most weren't new games), and a copy of Red Dead Redemption they sent me ended up lost in the mail. I had Netflix for 2 years, and get a TON of mail, and have never had anything just flat out lost.. Those three things were enough for me to take the trial and say "no thanks, not for me".
I've bought several used games from them, however, and they are great in that aspect. New boxes, box art, and manuals, and very good condition discs.

I loved GameFly, and I believe around a month or two ago there was a similar topic to this. I praised the hell out of their system and I did genuinely like it. However, I can't justify spending $15 a month anymore, especially when every single game I've rented I wanna go back and play. Buying games is better for me, I'd rather keep games.

I just wanted to know if the service is worth the 16 a month they charge for it, and how does the whole free trial thing work?

I just wanted to know if the service is worth the 16 a month they charge for it, and how does the whole free trial thing work? It is worth it if you have a large library of games that you want to play. When I got it, there were tons of games I wanted to play through and I didn't have the means of buying them so I paid the $16 a month to rent them. For me, after a while I realized I wanted to replay games and they weren't available for me. If you're getting GameFly to just play Call of Duty or popular games that are out right now you're gonna have a bad time, because they aren't really available. For the trial, I think you need to cancel your account the day before the trial runs out. Make sure you send the game back 5-6 days before your trial expires just to be safe unless you intend on keeping Gamefly.
