I always heard that a fan throwing soda into the ring is what caused D'Lo to slip during the '99 powerbomb to Droz that paralyzed him. Paper, rumbled up stuff I like as far as trash goes, but I wouldn't want anyone seriously injured because of it.

I remember seeing D'Lo do that move, the running sitout power bomb, and thinking "Oh God, he almost broke that guys neck." Then later on, he does break a guy's neck, with that very move. It was like a disaster waiting to happen. Really sucks for Droz, and for D'Lo, but I can't say it was a huge surprise. I remember Dave Penzer telling the WCW crowds not to throw items into the ring, you might hit a child and injure them. Didn't make any sense, because that just made people want to throw stuff more!

"Hulk Hogan once said that "NWO was all about the trash brother, no trash no NOW"" and I pretty much follow that through my daily life.

The only thing fans should be allowed to throw in the ring are streamers, like in Japan.

It's a bit disrespectful. We live in a different era, back then the companies were really trying to do anything to get viewers, to the point that WCW would intentionally piss of their fans, they probably loved the trash crap. Now there is a different tone, not better, not worse, but far more sedate. Fans are far more aware of the fact that they're viewers of a show, so to throw trash is pretty disrespectful to the hard working performers. Don't like the show? Too bad, only show in town.

D'lo also said it was because of both Droz's shirt and baggy shorts over the years so who really knows. I doubt any of them alone would cause it. I always thought it was odd WWE buried the footage of the match itself but used the footage of Droz being carried out on a stretcher in the "Don't Try This" add from the time.

At a house show last year, I saw someone throw trash into the ring during the first match. Security didn't ask any questions, the guy was immediately escorted out of the arena. Its disrespectful and unnecessary. Your choice if you don't like whats happening in the ring but your dislike shouldn't involve throwing anything at those that are doing their job to entertain you.

I was at a house show in London a few years ago, and everyone started throwing glowsticks at Chris Jericho.

The crowd threw trash in the ring when Big Show won the ECW Championship back in 2006. They also did it when Mabel won King of the Ring. Care to guess what the 2 events had in common? ...Both in Philadelphia? ...Both had an ECW tie-in?

It costed Droz career. But the one at Heyman was pretty funny though. When I think it was Hogan beating Nash, lots of crap was thrown in their. Also that battery incident with Shawn Michaels. The fans through a sloppy D'lo Brown in the ring? Am I the only person that thought of Smackdowns overall roster when reading the title of this thread?

In regards to D'lo/Droz, and if it was caused by something in the ring...
4:02
Droz either couldn't get up all the way, or D'Lo didn't get him up all the way.
