Not sure if anyone knows but has McFarlane ever looked into doing/talked about a Soccer line? I would think that in smaller quantities and with guys like Rooney, Beckham, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Zidane, Donovan, Pele, Mardona, Raul, there would be enough name power to get some lines out of these. I know it's a niche market but I would love to see it. Admittedly, I'd love to see some of the Team USA guys be made from when I was a kid, Cobi Jones, Alexi Lalas, and Tony Meola being the most important to me (with Galaxy variant for Jones).
Not sure if anyone else would be interested but I think it would be cool. I have some of the FTChamps figures, and the Beckham Real Madrid in black version is one of my favorite figures I have, but I would love McFarlane to take a swing at these personally. Maybe McFarlane can't because FTChamps has the rights? I don't know.

McFarlane has had trouble keeping figures on the pegs for the big four sports in North America. As cool as it would be there is a smaller market in NA for the figures and would end up being a cost vs. reward issue. Limited runs means web or store exclusives, the price point has to be high to make a profit but you have to keep it low enough to actually move the items and there is the incredible sculpting costs and player/team image rights which for the major soccer leagues is said to be very high. If McFarlane was willing to get these on pegs across the globe then it would be cost effective, otherwise this could never happen.

I know Kenner released a Starting Lineup-type line in Europe in the late 80s/early 90s. I have Diego Maradona in Napoli gear and a few others. Pretty neat figures, but don't see them too often.
Doubt I'd be buy any Team USA guys, but I could get into figures for Messi, Aguero, and some of those guys though.

I remember buying the Kenner figures at Toy Works stores for discount prices. I always wanted to see McFarlane release a mixed sports series. Similar to Kenner when they had a track star, golfer, boxer, etc in one series. Unfortunately I don't think it sold well.

I'm pretty sure one of them is Maradona, as I know I have a loose version of him as well. I got them for like $2 or $3 on clearance at like a Children's Palace or something back in the day. I collected starting lineups so I'm sure I thought they were the same thing. I have some others in striped jerseys too. McFarlane has had trouble keeping figures on the pegs for the big four sports in North America. They would essentially be looking to sell a niche product at niche stores, like small soccer stores, indoor arenas or World Soccer type places. Dick's and Sports Authority I could see being interested if they do high sales in soccer gear. I was essentially thinking 4 figures a set, and no more than two sets a year. However, maybe they start with 4 a year and piggyback them into places like TRU and see if works. Again, probably not very realistic but it would be cool imo. They would be a slam dunk Internationally but I'm not sure what the McFarlane shipping logistics are like to even say that is or isn't possible.

I believe the figures that look like Mcfarlane figures were actually made with help from Mcfarlane if I remember correctly.

I didn't know that, but that would make sense if true. The only difference is they are made of a cheaper style plastic that I just don't think is as durable as the McFarlane figures. They are still pretty great though since they come with the name stands and a ball and the likenesses are pretty good.

Not McFarlane but got this a couple years ago. FT Champs I still have all mine, including the 30 cm Beckham and Ronaldo in there 05/06 kit. Love them I also love Corinthians Pro Stars and Micro Stars. Infact, Micro Stars have made a comeback called SoccerStarz. There the same but sold in blisters like Pro Stars was. Since Corinthian stopped Pro Stars and Micro Stars, the founder of them took the same team and made SoccerStarz.

Yeah, I've wanted one of the Corinthian XL Beckham figures for a long time but I could never reason with myself enough to have it shipped from over seas. $20-25 is good on the price imo, especially with the exchange, but then it costs like $10-15 more to have it sent to the US. They are really cool figures though imo, just like the Headliners line from the mid 90's.

The Corinthian XL figures are also good. Keeps in the style of the Corinthian figures with a big head. I have two Beckham's (England, United) along with Rivaldo. I'll have to get all my Football Figures (Corinthian XL, Corinthian Pro Stars, Corinthian Micro Starz, Pocket Stars, FT Champs, Kodoto) down now.
I have the sudden urge to buy some now XD
