Didn't see this posted... Michael Bay’s TMNT Reboot Gets Shut DownIf you were dreading Michael Bay’s alien, non-mutant interpretation of TMNT, you may be in luck, because Paramount has just shut down production, and the problem is apparently the script. The film was in pre-production in Vancouver, and was set for release in December 2013. That date has reportedly been pushed to May 2014. However, other reports indicate that the studio is temporarily laying off pre-production staff and informing those prepping the film that the work stoppage is “indefinite”.
It seems Paramount has listened to fans of the franchise. Hopefully this will result in a complete script makeover that will be more pleasing to die-hards (or the death of the project). Source: nerdapproved.com/movies/michael-bays-tmnt-reboot-gets-shut-down/Also, TMNT Nickolodeon Trailer!

Thank God. Nobody wants to see a CGI mess where the Turtles are aliens.
They are Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, they mutated because of the ooze, and they eat pizza and God help you if there are anchovies on it. That should be the premise of every movie.
Michael Bay is the biggest overrated, untalented HACK in the business. In a Michael Bay movie, if you accidentally spill a bottle of water it explodes like somebody shot a missile at a gas station. He is the definition of using CGI in place of a story with any depth.

It made no sense in the first place. Changing origins is no big deal, sometimes it works out. But for Christ's sake, they are called the Teenage MUTANT Ninja Turtles. How the hell would they explain that? They're aliens but we don't want to go too far and change their names to the Teenage Alien Ninja Turtles. So we'll keep the alien bit but still refer to them as mutants. It never made any sense and was doomed from the start, glad to see the plug got pulled on this one but I do hope they go forward with a new movie with the original origin.
And that Nickelodeon version looks pretty badass. Even though it's CGI, I would still watch it.

YES! Rob Paulsen (the original voice of Raph) has been confirmed to be the new voice for Donatello.
Can't wait.

What's really funny is a friend sat on a plane after south by southwest next to a head of Nickelodeon and showed him scripts for this, showing that they were selling to people at SXSW.

I'm pretty happy about this to be honest. I was all up for another Turtle movie but based on who was involved and the alien concept, I had very low expectations. I just kept getting flashbacks of what happened with Spider-man 3 and I'm glad to not see anything along those lines materialize.

The Nick cartoon looks better than Michael Bay's film resume since the first Transformers.

Nothing beats the first two movies in terms of story and "presentation of the turtles". Turtle suits > CGI.

I actually wanted to see where it was going. Morbid curiosity, I see. Nah, it's called not judging things before they happen. A lost art on WF. It could have been the one thing that Michael Bay didn't screw up. You never know until you see it.

idc.. I wanted a new Turtles movie.
Thet can't really "ruin" TMNT at this point.. It's untouchable. To much power behind the name.

You never know until you see it. ...but he screwed it up from the get go. He messed up when he wanted them to be aliens, and not what they have been for decades, mutants. The majority of people don't want things like Spider-Man being a robot, Batman being a werewolf, or the Ninja Turtles being aliens.

I'm not one to judge things before they come out my self, but let's be realistic here; MB screwed it up as soon as he changed them from mutants to aliens.
