Ok, I know, this is a wrestling forum, and yes, I researched my question before asking. And no, I really don't feel like creating a account for a fish forum, when I would never go there, and yes, its to late to call my Local fish shop for answers..... Ok, with that out of the way..
I purchased some Duncan corals ( 2 heads) today at a fish store today, around 3:45pm. I fully inspected them for about 15 minute's before making the final purchase. All their coral looked to be extremely healthy. I acclimated the coral for about 30 minutes, and set him in the bottom of my tank on my crushed coral sand bed. Since then, they have been retracted. Its 9:15pm right now, and they are now half retracted, but will periodically go fully retracted.
All of my tank perameters are perfect. Its a 3 gallon Picotope nano, with a very healthy amount of Xenia and Green Star Polyps.... So i know its not my peremeters, or water quality problems...
Im really worried that after paying $20 on a double headed Australian Duncan that im going to loose them. If anyone has any tips or insight on this, your help will be appreciated. Thank you so much!

A fish forum is going to be way more helpful. You say your tank parameters are "perfect", but you don't say what they are. You also don't say what other inhabitants of the tank are. I know two things about this subject.
1. nano SW tanks are extremely difficult to pull off. 2. It's not unusual for live stock to hide until it adjusts to a new environment. That observation applies to fish though. I have no clue if it applies to coral.

I'd give it some time to get used to its new environment. If it's still acting that way, it could be the other fish inside the tank or the environment inside the tank. Hope things improve for your coral.

My parameters are: Temp is 76 degrees ammonia is 0.1 parts per million Salinity is 1.026 pH is 8.2 Calcium is 420 parts per million Phosphate is 0.03 parts per million
I know my parameters are good. Water quality is perfect. I have a stock 5 gallon water filtration system plus a added 10 gallon 3-stage filtration system with carbon. Im turning my tank over about 10 times per hour. As far as stock in the tank: 1 False Percula ( clown fish) at just over 1 inch in length Green Star Polyp colony , around 40 individual polyps Xenia Stalk around 15 heads a few Astria starfish, decided not to get rid of them, as they aren't predating any coral, but eating detrius and algea.
My lighting is stock 50/50 compacts 10,000k and 450 Actintic bulbs which are perfect for large stone corals and all soft corals.
My heater stays at 76 degrees, although its an open top tank the A/C doesn't mess with it thanks to the help of the heat of the lights.
Hopefully this info helps!!! Thank you!
