HHH for me. I utterly despise that cretin crapbag JBL and will give him no credit whatsoever for ANYTHING.the only person that draws my ire as much as him is Stephanie billion $$ boobjob McMahon. Doesn't the fact you despise JBL so much show how good of a heel he was...yeah as a person hes an ass but his character was basically based around his real life persona.

JBL was only really only top heel for about a 1 1/2 years.
Triple H was top heel for much longer.

Muhammed Hassan. That guy attracted some MASSIVE heat. He was great on the mic, and working the crowd, with great ring skills as a bonus. Great on the mic? are you out of your mind? Also Chris Beniot for his heel turn in 2007.

It has to be between JBL (WWE Championship run) and Triple H. I remember wanting JBL to lose the title so much, and hated how he always was able to retain it. I remember reading he had to be escorted out of a house show during his feud against Eddie Guerrero, because people were actually waiting for him on the outside.

I had a tough time deciding between Triple H and JBL because of how awesome they were back in 2004. But, taking the rest of the 2000's into account, Triple H easily takes the cake. I seriously couldn't stand his guts for much of the decade. Looking back, he played the heel character so well.

for all those asking my hatred for JBL and Steph stems from my hatred of their backstage personas.in my book JBL was rewarded for being a dickhead bully and that doesnt sit well with me......
and the damage "daddys little girl"has done since being given that job she totally didnt deserve is UNTOLD.

I agree with you about JBL. I hate Bob Holly for the same reasons.

Yeah HHH and its not close. He wasn't just drawing heat in the ring, he is almost on IWC Hogan level when it comes to drawing heat amongst smarks.

Triple H was a phenomenal heel and everything you could want in one. Definitely a major favorite of mine because of how well he filled the role.
However, my favorite was JBL. Very good on the mic. I enjoyed his WWE Title reign and the character very much. JBL worked because its John Layfield with the volume turned up. I liked his style as it had an old school feel to it. I know many didn't like his style but I thought it worked well combined with his mic work and getting the crowd to hate him so easily. I think he was one of the best parts of the 2000s.
I would say that Edge in 2005-2006 was also an excellent heel and that was my favorite time period for Edge. I liked Edge for his in ring work when he went to Smackdown but hated the La Familia and Vickie Guerrero stuff. Not a fan of it. I thought Edge was on fire on RAW with Lita and the Rated R gimmick was at its absolute best towards the end of 2005-September of 2006. Great stuff!! I feel that the John Cena vs. Edge feud in 2006 is one of the all time best feuds. I am probably alone on that, but it was really good and produced some great matches.

Triple H despite his reign of terror in 03'. His heel run through 2000 wins it by default.
