What if a mexican, asian, a woman or chinese ran for president? Would you vote for him or her? What do you think the chances are?

Uh, who do you think is in the White House right now? Anyways, who cares, one of the up and coming stars of the GOP who may run for President some day is an Indian dude, it doesn't matter.

A woman would be harder than anything, but all we ever heard about is how the U.S. wouldn't elect someone who is African American. Then an African American who had a name that sounds like a Muslim Extremist was elected.

The US would never elect an Asian IMO. Largely because there are so few of them in politics. It's just not a field that attracts them.

I don't think anyone would have a problem electing an Asian president, if there were any viable Asian candidates, but they're such a small minority that it's doubtful any would ever make it that far. Closest would be the Senators from Hawaii, but both of them are very old now.
The least likely groups to ever be elected to such a high office in this country IMO would be homosexuals, muslims, and women in that order. I just can't see a woman president in my lifetime.

Yeah, the Asians in DC seem to come from either Hawaii or California. It's weird since Asians are considered a model minority here in the US, but have very little political power it seems.

I would doubt a woman gets elected, nor would I want one to. Not because I think a woman would do a bad job (quite opposite in fact), but so many countries overseas see women as inferior that they would see the US as such because of it, no matter how good of a leader she is (at least at present)

Who cares if some backwards-ass country sees us as inferior? I care if a DANGEROUS country sees us as weak. One of the few reasons we haven't been attacked in over a decade is because we are powerful. Whether we are or not, people in those (and I agree with your description) backwards-ass countries will view us as weak and may not be so hesitant to attack. On a more realistic note though, it could very well mean an unwillingness for diplomacy, which is never good.

Many hated her, but she was undeniably one of the strongest leaders we ever had, whether you loved or hated her. Angela Merkel also projects a very strong image for Germany, and you would be a fool to underestimate her because of her gender.

It's definitely possible, although that could probably result in more birther crap.

If a black man can, I think anyone could. Marco Rubio could very well be the next repub Prez candidate after Romney. If a black guy can get elected then I think pretty much anyone with charisma and credentials could.

I still believe a large factor in Obama getting elected was simply because he was black. Anywho it could happen, however I doubt it in the next few years.
