I want to talk about an observation I've made. Why is it that some of today's young single moms post pics of their kids on Facebook and talk about them on their statuses but someone in the picture is missing. The boyfriend/father. There's 2 girls I know who have little kids or babies and they never mention the father/boyfriend in statuses or pictures but it says they are in a relationship. This generation is f'd up. So a girl will use a guy to make a baby but she wont include him in updates? I'm talking here about 18-27 year olds.

I wouldn't say 27 is a young mother... My sister is has a baby and she takes tons of pictures/and mentions my bro in law in her status updates.

Oh no! The dad isn't in the status updates/pictures on Facebook! There's something wrong!

I would think that the father would not be in the picture, because he isn't in the child's life.
Any baby picture on FB I've seen from a couple that's actually together, often has photos of both parents.
Then again it could also be that it's the mother's FB, and the father may have his own photos on his account.

There's lot of seperated parents out there these days. My sister is 1. My other sister is about to be 1.
Most of the people I know who have babies did not plan their babies. They got knocked up or knocked someone up on accident. Don't really see these relationships lasting very long quite honestly.
I think it's just that marriage and relationships and family are not as important as they should be anymore. But that's just what I have observed.

In my opinion, they shouldn't document the lives of either their children or spouses online. Not only is it annoying to others, it just isn't safe for people to know too much about them.

thats why this generations kids are so messed up. If there's no father in the picture, the kid has no role model and then we wonder why kids get pregnant at an early age or act rude to old people.

People need to take things more seriously. You can't take chances with that sort of thing.

I mean, you look back a few decades and most married women would have children by 20. Even now, I would say the age range you're looking for is more from 18 - 23.

You guys are reading into what I said too much. I have friends who post pictures and statuses about their families with T.M.I. moments. There are things that people can go without knowing. Things that should only be known within their households.

Everybody wants to have sex but these days nobody thinks about the repercussions. People don't think of the possibility of creating a precious new life during those few moments of unprotected pleasure. All they care about is that they're getting some and that's all that matters, that's why you have all these single moms that aren't even 18 riding the bus with 6 babies in one arm and another 6 in the other.

Wow...is this what it has become? Facebook is this important? My wife and I post pictures of our kid or just one of us with the kid all the time. Primarily because we work alternating schedules in order to have to take him to the babysitter as few days as possible. Doesn't mean that one or the other of us aren't in his life or that we don't spend any time together. We're together a fair amount of time. We honestly take the pictures when we're with him alone so we can send to one another while the other is at work. Just because something isn't on facebook doesn't mean it's a problem. I seriously heard someone say something about another person feeling bad or something. Then someone said "Well he never posted anything about it on facebook" as if he was lying because he didn't say he felt bad on facebook. Seriously?!

Anyone else enjoy the theories as to why this, or the next generation is so ed up? since the dawn of time, people have thought that society was getting worse and worse, and that their generation (sometimes the one before theirs if the want to be a part of the problem) was the last good group of people to ever grace the Earth. I think it's hilarious.

You're probably reading too far into it with the facebook thing. Who's in the photos most/all the time doesn't really account for how the homelife really is. With that said, it does bother me how un-phased or okay young mothers seem to be with having no father in their children's lives. This whole "I don't need no man to raise my child" mentality does nothing but hurt the kids in the longrun. I also agree with this... Anyone else enjoy the theories as to why this, or the next generation is so ed up? since the dawn of time, people have thought that society was getting worse and worse, and that their generation (sometimes the one before theirs if the want to be a part of the problem) was the last good group of people to ever grace the Earth.
