I've noticed something with figures that have been coming out, the figures that have the kickpad mold at least. It seems as if around elite 11, Mattel has been skimping out on actually molding the pad part onto the kickpad/boot part. So it's just a flat surface all around. Yes the paint is incredibly well done. But it is leaving me reason for concern. Anyone's Cm Punk or Daniel Bryan figures like this?

Do you have pics because I don't know what you mean? The kickpad on the All-Stars figure is more pronounced than it is on the Elite 16 as you can see in my picture. I don't mind it though i think it actually looks better.

But I would love it to be molded. to be more realistic!

I've noticed this as well. It doesn't bother me as it still looks good. Cutting cost using less plastic. They gotta do what they gotta do.

Definitely prefer having the mold there, but ultimately I guess it's just one of those areas where they can cut costs without too many people noticing. I could definitely live without the mold if they started adding a little luster to the paint, though. Punk's kickpads are pretty shiny but the paint doesn't reflect that.

I could definitely live without the mold if they started adding a little luster to the paint, though. Punk's kickpads are pretty shiny but the paint doesn't reflect that. The attire on which Elite 16 is based on has kickpads that aren't shiny at all, actually: 4.bp.blogspot.com/-m2PnoVPlzRs/Ti2URE79YAI/AAAAAAAAC4I/8yoLM6Vrkwc/s1600/CM+Punk+vs+John+Cena%252C+Money+in+the+Bank+-+WWE+Money+in+the+Bank+2011+PPV+%2528Watch+Now%2529.jpg[/img] Also, i did notice the new kickpad mold shortly after spam posted the in hand pics up. From the picture above, you can see that it's accurate; his kickpads don't stick out like how the previous mold was, they fit more like a leg sleeve over his boots, which is what the Elite 16 figure represents. It seems they've retired the old kickpad mold, for both basics and elites. Figures like the RRH Shawn Michaels has the new kickpads, as do the recent Kofi Kingston figures. I prefer this mold, tbh. I've never seen kickpads stick out like the old mold, anyway.

Im completely fine with it, the way they are these days looks very much like the newer version. If anything the older one was overexaggerated because the sleeve over it does remove most of the protruding detail. Im completely fine with the new one. Plus, i guess it also makes for greater accuracy and execution of boot designs.
