OK so I can't give the bad without giving the good. So in follow up to the bottom 11 worst Hasbro figures I know present (in my opinion) the top 10 best hasbro figures. Ratings based on action move function, play-ability and overall look.
Here we go.
$10
The Doulbe Ax Handle Smashers
The first guy to surface with this move was the Macho Man and it was good enough to repeat throughout the series. I like this style figure due to the versatility of play that it offers. You can fore arm smash, body slam, hold the arms and do a swinging dropkick and do them all very well. You can do a decent clothesline, sleeper and suplex as well. Had much fun with this style figure.
#9
The Uppercuts
Although no two of these figures are molded the same they all have a great powerful upper cut function that can smash the crap out of their opponents. They also have a pose-able left arm that makes slams and suplexs look good as well. The open legs add for more great play. Lastly I would be re-missed if i didn't mention specifically Doink and his real hair. One of the true gems of the line!
#8
The Clothesliners
There were a few different body molds that performed this move as well and they were all super fun to play with. The move worked great and was very powerful as well. You could really put a hurting on your opponent with this smash. Another versatile figure style that allows for many great moves. You can do a clothesline, a left and a right punch, and even an elbow to the face and that is all with the figure's action move! The crooked elbow is perfect for performing suplexes. As you can see this is by far the most used figure move in the line and I am happy that it is as this was one of the most fun styles of figs for play.
#7
The Jabbers
This figure came in 4 basic styles. The first was debuted by Jake the Sanke Roberts. The jab function has a spring loaded jab by pulling back the right arm. And let me tell you was this ever powerful. I used to litterer pull back and lunch figures over the top rope during my royal rumbles with this move. It was a perfect figure for jake as his left arm was in a decent position for a DDT and he held on to Damien quite well. One thing that makes all of these figs good on the play-ability scale is that they each have a free moving arm. Both arms move independently which is great for play and acting out a variety of moves. The Million Dollar Man and Hogan are the same as Jake only with a different left arm. This arm was great for upper cuts, suplexes, sleeper holds, and hip tosses. The Papa Shango and Virgil were good in there own right but just a hair less fun compared to the rest.
#6
Bret The Hitman Hart
The looks is great and the action is spectacular. He did a spring twist uppercut so hard that it would sometimes hit my thumb and make me cry! His punch is different from the previously mentioned uppercutters as his arm is curved with makes him great for a hip toss where he can literally launch your figures. In fact both arms work for good punches and arm drags. He is great for body slams too. He has a wide base and can do so many moves that makes play with the Hitman nearly the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be. My only gripe is that his head couldn't move. Although it had the articulation, the long hair and the way it fit made this nearly impossible.
#5
The Fatties!
When i got the first fatties Earthquake and Typhoon I was mega excited (twas a great birthday for me!). It wasn't so much for the double ax handle smash move (which was great in it's own right) but it was for the pose-able legs. For the first time you could kick and leg drop your opponent. I loved doing this, especially having a guy run into the corner and catch a big boot to the face! Plus, hello, Earthquake can actually do the earthquake! These guys could freaking sit down! I know how weird is that that the ability to have figures sit excited me. The irony about it is that these were some of the most versatile figures in the line and you wouldn't expect the fatties to be.
#4
The Basic Slammers.
All three of these figures had slightly different body molds but the same basic hands made for slamming. And they worked great. The hands were molded in a great way so that you could hold a guy up above the head and slam him at will. With a bit of imagination you could even have Sid Justice do a power bomb. Best of all, this slam move fit all three of these superstars as far as their persona and in ring moves go. Three of my all time favorites and the best Warrior figure in the hasbro line
#3
The Human Vertical Suplex Machines
The first time this was mold was seen was with Mr. Perfect and it went on to be re-used many times, which was fine by me. This was best for perfect however as he could do the perfect plex. So few figures in the hasbro line actually did their WWF signature maneuver but Mr. Perfect only brings perfection. The move itself worked great. In addition the arm could also be used for a great over hand smash.
#2
Super Slammers
The Warlord and Ludwig Borga used a great gorilla slam mechanism. The hands were slightly cupped making them a bit better than the basic slammers as these power houses could seriously launch the figure in to the 3rd row. And with a bit of imagination you could even make it look as if the warlord was putting on the full nelson! Another great thing about these figures is if you put two of them together they can do a great Roman Knuckle Lock test of strength. Much fun was had with these two guys.
#1
HulkPlex Hulk Hogan!
This was the first hogan figure to come with a bandanna on (instead of the head band) and it made him look years younger covering up the baldness. He was a different mold from the basic suplex figures but worked the same way. And thus has all the same greatness that they had with a few added twists. His right arm was made of rubber making it much easier to fit around other figure's heads. This made suplexes, sleeper holds, and side headlocks much easier to execute! Speaking of the right arm, it was also in a great mold as you could put figs in the lunch position for a great scoop slam! Lastly, this figure looks awesome posed. You can almost hear real american playing over the PA system when looking at those 3.5 centimeter pythons!
Thanks for reading folks and I hope you enjoyed. As always let me know your thoughts and what your favorite Hasbro figures were for play!
