Finally talked to some head honchos at WWE shop yesterday, because I demanded an answer on why WWEshop would post the Vince, take orders, and then all of a sudden cancel the orders (like most of us thought they would).
First let me say, I (and a lot of other people) thought this was going to turn out to be a mistake anyhow, so I really dont understand what the big fuss is about.
Sencond, do you guys really think Mattel is going to sell McMahons for $10?? Hell no
The manager at WWE shop told me that they posted those in error, and it was indeed a very old posting from the Jakks Vince from 10 years ago (which sounds very strange, but true)
Around the same time, Ringside posted the mail away Vince, which many people thought Ringside just went and bought all of the Vinces, and we got stuck with the cancellation notices.
I can assure you, this was just an coincidence.
WWEshop assured me that Ringside, or anybody for that fact, is not allowed to buy more than a certain quanity of the same figures from WWEshop (usually 5). So there is really no way Ringside could have purchased those Vinces from WWE shop.
Second, I believe Ringside just got lucky, because if you think about it, with the Triple H promo now if effect, I can see Mattel wanting to clear out any extra Vinces they had. TRU probably got first dibs, but they are so big maybe only a few stores would have got them, so to a company like TRU, small quantities of Vince does not make sense. Which would make Ringside the next most logical company to sell them to.
There you have it. No BS. No Ringside promo, just the whole truth, and nothing but the truth........
So all and all, it turned out to be, like we all thought, an error on the WWEshop site.
