Biggest crime in Television in history. I refuse to acknowledge anything after season 1. Supernatural after season 5 has ranged from pretty bad to awful. Agreed completely. What a horrible thing that turned into. Season one was incredible. And then instantly it became an entirely different show. Blame the writers' strike. Without it, season 1 would have gone longer and the virus would've goten out.

Twin Peaks, The reveal - last few episods, are just unwatchable, I can't even remember what happened in those eps and I watched the full series a year ago. Heroes. Season 2. nuff said. My Name is Earl, When he went to Prison and then into a coma, like cmon what the were they thinking there.Eastbound and Down. Season 2, loved Season 1 but the start of season 2 was just too big of a change, and he just happens to go straight into a mexican baseball team, nah. you have lost a viewer. I actually didn't mind that. Me neither. Honestly, I don't think My Name is Earl ever jumped the shark.

Happy Days- Cliffhanger episode where Fonzi was literally jumping a Shark... hence the phrase
Married With Children- It should have ended 3 years earlier
Six Feet Under- The first season was incredible. Season 2 and after not so much.
The Soprano's- After season 3, blah
Saved By The Bell- Things started getting weired when they graduated then the next season their back in high school and Kelly was replaced with a biker chick. I can forgive this only because we were all supposed to forget Season 1 ever happened. SbtB "The Next Class" and "The College Years" totally lost me.
Family Matters- Nuff Said
Parker Lewis Can't Lose- The last season focused way too much on relationships and simply wasn't funny
I know these next 2 aren't shows and yes movies can bounce back and recover with remakes or sequels that disreguard the crappy films, but I'll throw these in here anyway.
Seed of Chucky- Killed the franchise to the point where now the next movie forgets the last 2 movies and is going straight to DVD. The brand can climb out of this hole but it won't be easy
Jason X- Just when I thought I have seen it all, they send Jason in Outer Space. Luckly Jason is very popular and will continue to kill some more camp councelers.
Escape from L.A.- The first movie was so dark and had the perfect setting for what this kind of future could be like. The second movie... we'll let's see... Snake Plissken putting his life on the line is a game of BASKET BALL... Steve Buscemi driving away from him in a Cadillac while Snake cathes up to him by surfing on a tsunami... Get the hell out of here. Way to take a tough character and make him look like a cartoon.

The Simpsons at Season 11. The last good season was probably 9, but it didn't hit rock bottom until S11. Mike Scully as showrunner killed what they had going.
Rugrats had 3 solid seasons before the show was put on a multi-year hiatus. When they brought it back, the babies were dumber, the plots got lazier and the VAs started dropping out (sadly the VA for Grandpa died in real life, too). I've seen some that were okay, but it wasn't as clever as the old ones were.

Probably that episode of Happy Days where Fonzie went skiing and jumped over that shark.

Hey now, Here's a question for you crazy people: What's a television show that you enjoyed really enjoyed in its early run but couldn't stand to watch after the series "jumped the shark;" meaning, the show aired an episode that signified it was heading into a major decline. For me it's Roseanne. I found the first few seasons to be quite enjoyable. But then they won the lottery and things just started getting really stranger. In fact, I think the later seasons of Roseanne were unwatchable. So what's yours? I think Family Matters is a close second. Agreed. The first few seasons of Roseanne are timeless classics in the sense it paved the way for a new era of television. I believe Roseanne was one of the first shows to represent a "real" family--Not like the over the top moral ridden sitcoms like Family Matters or Full House. I too cannot stand the episodes after they won the lottery (even some right before). The show started leaning more on drama than comedy. Roseanne Halloween episodes 4 life!

The Simpsons are another good example.Season 9 was the last good season.....after that it became utter rubbish.....and it still is.even the quality of The once excellent Halloween specials went through the floor.
Halloween special 8(season 9)was the last good one.....Halloween special 9(season 10)was GOD awful.such a rapid decline in even one season....

I refuse to mention any show still airing new episodes as they still have a chance to reach their peak of old, as unlikely as that is in the case of shows like The Simpsons. So without further ado . . . Newsradio ~ Season five, for obvious reasons. Those who aren't aware, Phil Hartman was one of the main characters on the show for the first four years and you see where this is going. Season five had some great things about it, "Bill Moves On" the season premiere dealing with the characters death, is probably the best tribute episode out there. Hilarious and heartbreaking, it was perfect. There were some other good episodes, and Joe was at his funniest but by the end of the season I hated the show. It was a pain to get through, which is a shame as season four is one of the best seasons in sitcom history in my opinion. Scrubs ~ Season nine, but in the shows defense, it was suppose to be a spin off, it was written and treated like a spin off by everyone except ABC. I actually ended up liking it by the end, but it was no where near as good as Scrubs. Spin City ~ Another Bill Lawerence show, and funnily enough, this did not jump the shark because of Charlie Sheen. Honestly, I liked season five more than most of season four. Season six was poor though, though I enjoyed the three parter with MJF's return, but even that wasn't that great. The X-Files ~ Season nine. First of all, I've never liked the mythos episodes of X-Files, never. The appeal of the show has always been the Monster Of The Week. Secondly, while I missed Mulder, Doggett grew on me relatively quickly (by his fourth episode I became a big fan). Robert Patrick was awesome in that show. Plus, when Mulder finally did appear, it lead to some pretty cool episodes. The last season however, holy crap was that terrible. I'm not really a fan of Reyes. Secondly, every single episode revolving around William had me bored out of my mind. Thirdly, that ending was beyond terrible, it was like they were holding a middle finger to my face for about two hours. I did like a few of the MOTW's, my favorite was Jump The Shark like Tom Skelton, and yes that's ironic. I love that episode actually. Married . . . With Children ~ I don't know exactly when it should've, but eleven years was a bit too much. For the most part, by the end I could only rely on Jefferson and Kelly to get me to laugh. Al too, on occasion. I will say that I am glad that it's got it's eleventh season though, as the three parter "Breaking Up Is Easy To Do" (where Al and Peggy actually break up) are some of the best of the series. I'll never understand why the that wasn't the series finale. That's all I have for now.

As previously mentioned Scrubs Season 9 was awful. Also 2 and a Half men after Charlie Sheen left has really declined.

The Cosby Show when they brought in Olivia & Cousin Pam.
Happy Days when Fonzie was dating that single mom who had the girl from Poltergeist as a kid, and whenever they had those lame orphan kids on the show (Louise & Louie). And whenever they brought Mork from Ork back on the show.
Laverne & Shirley- when they moved to California, when they joined the army.
The Three Stooges- When Joe Besser replaced Shemp.
Just the 10 Of Us- THE ENTIRE FREAKING SHOW!!!!
Diff'rent Strokes- When Mr. Drummond married that old bag & Sam joined the cast.
The Brady Bunch- Cousin Oliver. Enough said.
The Dukes of Hazzard- When Bo & Luke left & were replaced with Cousin Coy & Cousin Vance. Ugh.

"It's Garry Shandling's Show." By season four, they defeated the purpose. He fell in love, got engaged, married, and all the episodes went to pot as a result. Though, I must admit Paul Feig was the one bright spot.

The office shouldnt have ket going post michael scott departure THIS. Michael Scott is what made that show funny. (Him and Dwight Shrute of course) But after he left I found myself hardly laffing at any episodes. I watched an episode form season 8 a couple days ago and was very dissapointed.

The Soprano's- After season 3, blah You're entitled to your own opinion, but I think you're ing crazy with these two shows being on your list. I thought both were incredible from beginning to end. SFU has my absolute favorite series finale of all time too.

Simpsons dropped off after season 13 or so, but its the only show that's run long enough to pick back up, after season 19 or so it started getting enjoyable again.
But even then, EVERY season has at least one good episode.

I dunno... I look at a lot of shows the opposite. I think Fresh Prince sucked the first season and then got good. Same for Family Matters. The first two seasons of Boy Meets World sucked too but got great towards the end. You ain't kidding. It really picked up in the third season which is rare for a show to go backwards like that. The series usually gets worse.
