What a prick. In a festival event that big you have to put your ego aside. This makes him look like a little bitch. I never understood how breaking your own stuff makes anything better either. Or, you know, Usher could put his ego aside. They were scheduled for 45 minutes, agreed for 45 minutes, and got 25 so Usher got more time. He has every right to be pissed. Heaven forbid! They got paid the same amount of money for 20 minutes less of work! I feel sooooooo bad for them!

Its not about them getting the money though, its about the people in the crowd not getting to see Green Day play for the full 45 minutes.

Then let them be the ones to have a temper tantrum and break their own perfectly good stuff.

Oh please, if anyone started ranting on stage it was Jim Morrison. What this Armstrong guy did was **** like, he cursed at the event organizers, Jim didn't care if you were a fan, cop, or stage crew you weren't safe from The Lizard King!

I'd be pissed too. They promised him 20 more minutes. And really, does anybody really need to be subjected to an EXTRA 20 minutes of Usher? lol

They're not in the band to go play a show and go on stage and say "Let's get this done as soon as possible."

Clearly some of you have no clue of what passion is. Green Day like them or not, care that their fans get what they paid for. They are humble enough to know the people at that arena are the reason they are still so big!!! I would have reacted the same way. Now the busting of the guitar was dumb, cause not only will they not play that venue again( more than likely) but they will need new equipment, for then no biggie, but still cost money. Which will be cut from the venue fee and merchendise sales. Oh, and if the venue representative doesnt fine them for going over rental time!

Christ, I don't think I've ever seen so many people speaking out of their ass at once. Meaning all of you in this thread. Green Day sucks as a retort. Green Day has no passion. Green Day wasn't bad ass enough about it. Comparing Green Day to Axl ing Rose? Really? Aren't you not aware of who Axl Rose is? I'm not the world's largest Green Day fan, but I do enjoy their music. Musicians care about music. It's a simple fact. They're most enjoyable moments are when they're on stage getting cheered by thousands of people. It's what they get paid to do. In fact, it's the only way they really make money because of the greedy earthly inhabinants who choose to purchase nothing and steal everything. In short, shut the hell up. He has every right to be pissed. Sure his whiny voice and eyeliner made him come across as a bitch. But he has every right to bitch.

Well, some people are immature and don't know how to properly articulate their feelings in situations like that. I mean, the guy is 40 and dresses like he's 20 and acts like it's still 1991. I like Green Day for the most part, but why is anybody REALLY surprised when musicians and celebrities act like children these days?

Didn't Jim Morrison piss on the front row at a show? No, you might of heard that he "exposed" himself but he really didn't no photo from the Miami concert ever shows that he did. The police in Miami just didn't like him.

I could have used a few less F bombs though. I get that he was mad, but c'mon man you're just sounding less mature the more profanity you use. I'm also mixed to comment depending on the situation. If their set was pushed down to 25 and they were told in enough time in advance to adjust then I'd simply go about it as a business venture, because even though they love music and are passionate this is a business and if you're getting paid X amount of money for doing 25 minutes (cut from 45 or whatever) then you simply have to accept that. But.. If it was a last minute change and they weren't properly informed then they have every right to get that upset and freak out.

So much hatred being spewed from you guys.
I loved Green Day in junior high. Do they suck now? No. Not at all. I grew out of the Green Day phase, but the guys are still good. They've got a pretty big catalog of good songs, they are major players, and to get bumped like that really sucks. The Justin Bieber comment is the only thing I disagree with. That kid is doing his thing and making a lot of money. He's not hurting anyone. Why they had to lash out at him, I don't know. Maybe it's a music business thing. Don't know.
Either way, relax with the hate, guys. No reason why you've got to trash them like that. They were screwed out of their 20 minutes and that sucks for them.
