This all just seems like it was a planned way to make them seem "edgy" in order to promote the new album.

I'd be pissed too if my set was cut short 20 minutes. Although is it really necessary to yell so many times? And breaking your guitar is just ridiculous. I see why Armstrong got mad and I don't blame him, but he overreacted.

Green Day hasn't been cool in 15 years.

I hope he gets what he needs in treatment.
Here's my support. Lots of people have gone down because they couldn't accept help.

I don't care if he was high, drunk or stone cold sober, I think he had every right to flip his lid. Additionally, what the is with all the Green Day hate? That's rhetorical, I don't care about your opinion, I just think the blind hate is crazy.

It always sort of surprised me how much people turned on Green Day because of American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown. I didn't get it. I still don't.
I have friends who were HUGE Green Day fans and now genuinely consider them to be nothing more than steaming hot garbage because they wrote American Idiot. It makes no sense to me.
Musically, I think American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown is the best music of their career. I get that it wasn't "punk", but for people who claimed to be huge fans of the band, there should have still been some seriously credible material on both of those records. To me, the storytelling on both albums is off the charts. I hold those records in very high regard.
As for this situation, it seems to be getting even muddier. It'll be interesting to see how this effects the new records, if at all. I've been a bit nervous about Uno! for a while now.

he had no right to dick over the fans thoguh.. shows very unprofessionalism from him to even do that.. him getting his time cut in half or not.

I can see both sides. I am a musician who plays semi-regularly for money (so a semi pro musician lol) and I've been pushed to go on later or had my sets cut down and it is frustrating. I problably wouldn't flip like he did though because it was not his choice to end early and as long as the fans are aware that the band didn't choose to end early, he has nothing to worry about.

I think it was some what of a publicity stunt. Anyone else notice how Mike Dirnt did nothing calm down Billie, and he actually joined him by smashing his bass? Even if it was staged or not, I thought it was totally badass. But if Billie really is in rehab now, I wish him the best recovery. Although I've never heard of him being a drugie, and I'm a huge Green Day fan.
Also, one other thing I was wondering, is are they still going to be on Jimmy Kimmel tomorrow night? I saw that they canceled a couple events, but I didn't see anything about this one being canceled.
