I would have posted this in the tech helpdesk but the place has been totally dead for weeks.
I recently had to get a new laptop(L1) because screen on my old laptop(L2) broke on the inside - the LCD part so now I cannot see what I'm doing at all on L2. I'm unable to even log in.
I was just wondering what are the ways I can transfer stuff such as my pictures & music from L1 to L2?
Thanks.

If you're able to get administrative rights to your network on the new laptop, allow sharing between all PCs that use it.
You should be able to access your documents/pictures/whatnot from the old laptop.

Do you or someone you know have an external monitor you can hook up to your laptop so you can transfer the files to a hard drive?

Remove the harddrive and place it in an external encloser.
