Very good season finale. It's curious who they'll axe. I've been saying Daryl the whole season; but I could see them breaking Negan's character and killing Maggie.
Any kill would incite a war, but by killing Maggie; that forces Carol back to take Maggie's place as the leader of Hilltop. It also seems like they've been purposely maturing Enid to do the harder work Maggie was unable to, so either of those two could take her comic role with progression. They've kept so close to the comics but they'll break for the war. Whatever violence they can do for ratings and shock, they'll do. And killing a pregnant woman? Yeah, that'll make people watch and hate Negan which is the point.

I honestly hope it's Aaron, Eugene or Sasha. A major character like Glenn, Michonne or Abraham being killed on a cliffhanger in that manner would be an injustice to the character. I still think it's Glenn that's going though. I'm going to be mad as if Daryl gets it. What I loved about that last scene despite the stupid cliffhanger was Andrew Lincoln's acting. Negan was great too but Rick, for the first time, was scared crapless because he knew he couldn't do anything to protect his family. Before, he would always find some way to save them no matter what but not this time. Now he is forced to watch one of his own people get their skull bashed. Lincoln played it so perfectly, incredible performance. I was saying exactly this to my brother. Lincoln sold Negan even better than JDW did with the way he conveyed so much terror.

I just know I marked out seeing Trevor from GTA in the show. He's really perfect for the show, and I hope he sticks around a bit.

I'm not a comic guy, so I've only heard of Negan through friends who have followed the story arc and told me how awesome he is.
I loved the finale. I think season 5 and 6 have been the strongest of the show to date. The finale did nothing to change that. I'm totally on board, bring on season seven.

The best thing to come out of the finale was the latest Abrahamism of goodness:
"We're neck deep up sh*t creek with our mouths wide open."

Between that and Negan's comment on Carl's eye; fantastic one line comments this episode.

Just watched the finale. I knew JDM was going to be a great Negan but he did such a good job I was actually rooting for him to wail on someone and get the upper hand against Rick's crew.

I think the cliffhanger works. I fully expect them to actually show Lucile feeding on the poor bastard at the start of the next season.

As someone who suffers form misophonia, those Saviors were really pissing me off with their whistling.
And I keep waiting for Carol to say "I lost my smile."

I think the cliffhanger works. I fully expect them to actually show Lucile feeding on the poor bastard at the start of the next season. I think they will too, but the cliffhangers drags this out by six months and pretty much removes all of the shock of the scene for when they finally show it. The scene will still sting, but imo they severely reduced the impact of the defining moment of the series. The internet will probably end up leaking who dies in two months anyway.

well, here we go.... they didn't show who got killed ,because they didn't film who died. www.tvguide.com/news/the-walking-dead-executive-producer-greg-nicotero-confirms-finale-death-hasnt-been-filmed-yet/Chandler Riggs was not exaggerating: he has no idea who died in The Walking Dead's Season 6 finale even though he was there, because the death wasn't shot. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, The Walking Dead's executive producer/Season 6 finale director/makeup guru Greg Nicotero was cagey about almost everything related to the future of the show. He answered "I don't know" to questions about whether Negan's victim will return at all, Maggie's health, what's the deal with Morgan's body-armored new friends, and how closely the seventh season will follow the "All Out War" arc from the comics, but he did confirm one almost unbelievable thing: The finale death hasn't been filmed yet. When asked by The Hollywood Reporter's Lesley Goldberg what he could say about who was killed off, Nicotero said, "We have not filmed it yet and I don't know if the person knows yet or not." This death is such a big secret that not only is the creative team behind The Walking Dead willing to recreate the precise logistical conditions of the last scene of Season 6, they may even be keeping it a secret from the person most affected by the to-be-revealed death. Nicotero also confirmed that he'll be directing the Season 7 premiere, whose shoot is "coming up quickly," so that death will be shot soon enough. Tags: Spring Preview, AMC, Spring TV

But I was thinking the same thing before Morgan killed the Savior. Shows how much he believes in the ability for humans to come back to humanity, Carol, but him killing the Savior proved to him that not EVERYONE can be fixed.

I hope they don't take the easy way out and kill Abraham or Eugene. It has to be Daryl or Glen. I don't think it's a woman as Negan said 'It's taking it like a champ' plus the person who got hit looked up after the first blow. If that was a woman they would have been dead on the first Lucille blow.

Idk about the whole not filming. JDM said he didn't know it was a cliffhanger until he watched the episode. He had to have had filmed something.

Well I imagine they filmed the first scene after the beating so everyone was in the same spots, same clothes, same setup, and they just cut it to air next season. That doesn't have to mean that scene is even the first scene of next season, that's just probably what they did and why he didn't think it was a cliffhanger; because they already shot it.

Someone I know who's a huge fan of the show told me this morning he heard that we wouldn't find out who it is until the third episode of season seven. That they are going to focus mainly on Carol, Morgan, and the two dudes with the horses, along with a lot of backstory for Negan leading up to the death scene. I hope this isn't true, but I could totally see them doing this. For what it's worth, I think it's going to be Glen. I did read also we'll be seeing Negan's perspective on things. I wouldn't doubt we'll see how he reacts to all the times Rick and co. killed his men. Then up the point of picking who to kill. Idk about the whole not filming. That's what I figured. But then that goes against how apparently they didn't film who died. So either they lied, or JDM is really stupid and didn't understand all he filmed was a cliffhanger which I doubt.

Not like he would have been allowed to talk about the episode till after it aired anyways. That'd be my guess.

I highly doubt it's a female, Carl or Rick. So that leaves Glenn, Daryl, Abraham, Aaron and Eugene. Aaron would have almost 0 impact just because he's a B character who hasn't gotten all that much screen time so any of the 4 left I could see it being. That's pretty wild though if they killed off a character yet they don't know who exactly they killed off to being with. At least the "American Badass" Gabriel is safe and sound.

Loved the finale... right up until the damn cliffhanger. There's no way it's going to be more impactful 6 months from now than if the episode ended with it. I have to think it will be Glenn, Maggie, or Daryl. If they cop-out and do a more minor character, that would be such a BS move.
Honestly, my favorite thing about this whole episode was seeing Trevor Philips. If there's ANYBODY who fits perfectly into this world, it's definitely him. Shame that his meth market probably died down considerably, though.

You guys think the POV we saw from the van throughout the episode is the same POV (person) that got the bat?
