Anyone going to the NYCC Comic Con coming up this weekend? I saw a good bit of the cast of the new CW show Arrow will be there including Stephen Amell. The cast of Walking Dead will be there. Several of the cast for Haven. And also Dolph Ziggler, Bellas, Kelly Kelly, Butterbean, Booker T and Kevin Nash will be there. I will only be in attendance on Sunday.
In addition, I have 1 extra 4 day pass and 2 kids passes if anyone needs one. Feel free to PM me.

Waiting for next year's date to be announced so we can potentially plan my brother's bachelor party weekend to incorporate that.
Went in 2009. Best time ever.

New York City Con Comic Con? What? Anyways, Max will be there Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The lineup is quite frankly pretty crappy compared to the last few years, especially last year when they had an Avengers panel, this years Walking Dead panel won't even come close to that. Oh well.

If I wasn't going to Florida the same time this is going on I'd have been there.

I'll be there on Friday for my 1st comic con. Any news on good exclusives? There are 2 Variant issues of AVX featuring Avengers in Giants uniforms and XMen in Jets unis. There is also a Spiderman lithograph. I saw a few other items, but cant recall off the top of my head.

If anyone would be cool enough to be a "mule" for me and pick me up three items from the Skybound booth (grey, purple, and glow in the dark PVC figures of the Walking Dead Michonne + her zombies) PLEASE PM me.
Total cost would be $55 for the three sets, I'd gladly pay shipping to me, and throw in another $50 for the trouble.

I went Friday through Sunday, and while I did have a good time, the negatives definitely seemed to outweigh the positives this year.
First and foremost, the crowds, particularly on Saturday, were absolutely insufferable. I know that's what you need to expect going in, but I'm just talking a sea of morons that don't know how to walk, or that stand in the middle of the walkway blocking traffic, forcing people to walk around them, or the idiots that just randomly stop while walking either to take a picture or just because they're idiots and don't know where they're going. I was throwing elbow left and right all weekend just to move through large groups of people blocking traffic. God forbid there was a fire, or an emergency that required everyone to leave at once, it would have been a tragedy.
Everything seemed disorganized. It seemed as though the NYCC staff left it up to the individual companies to organize lines at their booths, but this turned out to be a huge fail. Most lines weren't labeled at all, you had no clue where they began or where they ended, or in many cases even what people were lining up for. Lines sprawled out into the walkways, causing a further impediment to traffic, and just creating an all around bad situation.
Panels this year weren't up to par with past years. Walking Dead is great and all, but it's not the Avengers panel they had last year.
Swag this year was also way down. I'm used to coming home from these things with a ton of t-shirts, keychains, amongst other things. This year many vendors weren't giving away anything at all, or limited it to flyers, posters, or advertisements. A lot of booths did have items, but had them in very short supplies, and they were gone almost instantly. I guess I can't complain about this too much, but I guess it's just the state of the economy and these companies just don't want to shell out the money anymore to give out this stuff en masse.
As for the good things
Tony of panels, vendors, booths, certainly something for everyone. There's definitely something for everyone here, no matter what your into. You'll run into celebrities, you can go to an autograph signing, play video games, or even just walk around and watch people.
Although the content of the panels weren't up to the quality of past years, the panels they DID have were all very good. Capcom in particular had some fantastic panels where the game developers would speak, and show exclusive clips.
Lots of vendors selling collectibles, although many of them were clearly scalpers, or even beyond scalpers, just jerks trying to sell items at prices way above current market value to fools that don't know better.
Overall, compared to other cons I have been to, this just felt like the San Diego Con's neglected little brother. If I go back next year, I'll probably just go for one day, either a Friday or a Sunday, three days in this madness was overkill.

Spotted you from my table walking around in Artist Alley. It was humorously surreal to me.

100% agree with Max. The crowds were absurd and just like he said about stopping and not moving and blocking the middle of the walkways. I left a few hours early just cuz I didnt want to deal with them anymore.
