At what point do you think the WWF/E realised Taker had been undefeated at wrestlemania and decide to make a story of it? Do you think they knew he was gunna be big and decided it from his debut or a few years down the line? If he'd lost his first WM this whole thing wouldnt exist, just seems they WWF/E got lucky with it thats all.

I think it was merely coincidence. The first time I ever heard them acknowledge it was at Wrestlemania X-Seven after he beat Triple H. JR said The Undertaker has just gone "9-0".

I could've sworn JR said during his entrance at Wrestlemania XIV vs. Kane that 'Taker "hasn't lost yet at Wrestlemania." But I'm sure it was pure coincidence for a good while.

I want to say the first time they kept hyping it was for WM 18 and after he won he was on the apron and he counted the wins on his fingers.

It wasn't planned from the beginning, he just feuded with guys he wasn't going to lose to at Mania... But once they got to around a decade of him winning it made sense to make a big deal of it.

Best idea they ever kept up with. Can you imagine if he lost to Bundy or something? Mania just wouldn't be the same.
