I think his two matches with Roode were awesome, but outside of that, what's really to talk about? I still think him dropping the title to Jeff is going to be part of his heel turn. He has to lose to have a reason to turn heel. Now he can play the bitter role with an even bigger chip on his shoulder. It's like when CM Punk lost the title to...no one and turned heel. TNA easily could have had Aries retain, and then proceed to destroy Hardy after the match. Perhaps Hardy refused to shake his hand? Perhaps Aces and 8s beat down Hardy for Aries to win and be revealed as the leader? What about Aries locking in the Last Chancery and never letting go? There were plenty of ways to go with a heel turn. They've been building it for weeks. You don't need much more anticipation.

He didn't have to put over Hardy to turn heel, just like Roode didn't have to loose to Angle last year to turn heel. Aries could have still gone over and turned heel at the same time.

Lets be honest, Victory Road is in a few months... Well played sir. I had a good laugh at this, haha.

I didn't like Hardy winning the title at BFG. I would have rather Aries go over as a heel, but now that he lost. We can expect a heated up rivalry between the two hopefully it'll be good. And Aries plays a better heel than a face.

I wasn't implying that they had to have him lose to turn him heel. I was saying that him losing is going to be a part of him turning heel creatively. We need to accept, myself included, that this Jeff Hardy title win was more than a creative decision. TNA obviously wasn't booking Aries to win that match so I'm guessing they have a plan in place for what they are going to do with him right now. I believe him losing to Jeff is going to be the catalyst for his creative direction for the foreseeable future. The Roode thing worked out. Is it what I would have done? No. Especially since they were flopping Angle heel and face at that time too. But they turned Roode on TV, gave him the title, and he has been amazing for the past year. Did TNA have to go that route? No. However, would Roode turning heel on Storm have meant as much if he didn't screw Storm out of the title? I think not. So just because we didn't get the immediate satisfaction we were looking for at the PPV doesn't mean that TNA isn't telling the story we want to see or hear.

Imo, Aries is best at Wrestling and Talking on the mic, but bad at stupid segments.
So, TNA booked him in stupid segments with the Aces and Eights 5 weeks straight.

To me, it seems like tna figured out their ratings have consistently sucked since they put their title on the angry 4 ft tall guy. Say what you will about in ring ability and all that crap. In a fake sport, perception is everything and you simply cannot be taken seriously on the national level when it looks like the referee could knock the **** out of the champ.
It sucks and its not fair, but a lot of guys are just too damn small for people to care about.
I agree that jeff hardy isnt that great, either. But he DOES bring in money by selling merch.

Aries just became champ at the wrong time, ratings in the wrestling business are declining. They need to put the strap back on him eventually.

Seriously Austin first few months were perfect, as TNA had him go over their top guy in Roode twice. Then everything seemed to fall apart. First Aries was made to look like a chump in the Aces&Eights storyline and then was made to look like crap leading up to BFG. Then top top it Aries had to put over the talentless Jeff Hardy. excuse me? Jeff hardy is one of the best ing wrestlers to ever live. but I do agree with Austin having a short reign
