Checking the findings board this morning I saw that a Sears in my area had a Diesel in stock. So I called Sears and they told me they actually had two of them. I ask the lady on the phone if she could hold one for me under my name and that I'd be right in. I was excited to finally find a replacement Diesel for the one I had, since mine didn't come with the belt tassels. And my plan was to give my son my old Diesel to play with, while I would have the new one for my collection.
30 minutes later I was at Sears and saw the WWE display. It was a small one, but it was clear they had a fresh set of E16 since there was everyone from that set EXCEPT the Diesel that should have been on hold for me. Even though she said there were two left, and I asked them to hold one, I thought either the other one was bought, or she accidentally held two for me.
Anyhow, when I get to the kids register right next to the WWE display, the lady there had just started her shift. I told her there was a figure being held for me but she didn't see any Diesels on hold and had no idea about the figure or what I was talking about. I noticed a "Hold" area for items out in the open right next to the WWE display, which means anyone who sees the hold items can just grab them and take them to a register. Two managers came out to help locate the Diesel that should have been held for me, and could find nothing. They even looked in back and brought out every WWE figure they could find. One of them even said someone came in and bought two figures earlier. Which made me wonder if one of them was supposed to be for me.
No one seemed to know anything about the one that was on hold for me. I know I was at the right Sears and even double checked the location when I phoned. Got my hopes up for nothing since I left without the Diesel that should have been held for me.
Just sharing my disappointment. This ever happen to you?

yea it happened to me the other day when i went looking for an E17 Ryder. They said they had it, got my hopes up and when I got there ZERO E17 on the floor! Plus wasted $2 in parking. I swear some ppl who work at retail stores are dumb as sh*t

Dude, this same thing happened to me yesterday when I was looking for A Diesel and a Slater for a friend...I called Meijers in Columbus b/c I was going to be in the area, they said they'd hold both, and I go in to get them, they're not up front and not in the back so that was an awesome out of the way drive

Back towards the end of Jakks's wwe run they had a nice ring playset go from 59 to 19. And so I wanted it and I went to one store where they did not have it BUT they told me it was in stock at a dif store. Long story short I went to a number of stores which had it "in stock" per the computer and none had the ring. So yes I can feel your pain.

I've seen Diesel on Ebay for $25-$30 shipped.
Those six extra dollars you spent online, you used on gas and time.
Not to mention it'll arrive at your door.
Lol, I wonder what those employees were thinking while you made them bring out the whole stock just to look for a toy.

the same thing happened to me with the TMNT classics... called the store and gave them the item number that i received from another location... they said they found donatello and was going to the stockroom to look for leo.. they came back and said that they had both and would hold it for me... when i got there it was the WRONG item... it was the basic crappy ones... i was at the store for 45 min for them trying to locate the "6" that they supposedly had.... wasted my time and gas.... some employees i tell ya....

I have had this happen to me a few times.
When x-pac first came out in the bca line i was looking everywhere for him. Finally my mom made a call to tru and asked them to hold back one. When we got to tru the guy at the front desk said he had no idea what we were talking about. He said they only had one and he was going to buy it when he got off work. After he walked away his coworker handed it to me.
When slammer series 2 first came out i was looking everywhere for Kane and dude love. My dad ended up calling every store in the area and only found dude love. He asked the girl if she would hold it back for him. When we got there they said there was no record of anyone calling.I walked over to the wrestling section and found dude love hanging on the peg.
(keep in mind i was 8 when these stories happened)

Happened to me last week wish Nash. Someone posted that KMart in my area had the display and there was a Nash when they left. I called and asked them to hold it. After work I zoomed on over... and no one had any idea what I was talking about, and naturally the last Nash was gone.

my closest tru is 60 miles i called when there was reports of tru sticking older elites. they said they had e11 punk i got there it was a packing error with christian and christian shirt. i grabbed it anyways since there was a sale at the time

Like I told you, as its happened to many of us including myself, just ask for the employees name who helps you over the phone so then when you go to the store and they can't find it, you can say "well (name) told me they put it on hold." So the manager can figure it out. I know how aggravating it is, but just do this in the future to avoid it.

I've had two similar things happen but not that exactly. A few weeks back my local Sears got in Elite 16 as posted by someone on here. I called them and asked for the toy section, they kept switching me to different departments for like 5 minutes straight. Finally they try to tell me they don't have a toy section and I had to tell them yes they do and that I was there(because I knew they had one) and I explained it was near the baby toys. They then said "ohhhh hold on" they then come back and ask me who I'm looking for and I told them Elite 16 CM Punk & Diesel. The women says okay and then it takes awhile after a few minutes she comes back and says "sorry we didn't hang up on you I'm getting someone to look hold on" then two minutes later they hung up on me.
I also had an issue with TRU back in the early Classic Superstar days. I called them asking for Classic Superstars 2 because at the time my Dad wouldn't take me unless he knew if they had it. So I call them and I can tell the guy didn't look. My dad then waits a few minutes and calls back, the guy says no once again but without looking. Finally I wait an hour or so and call again and once again they say no without looking. Finally I convinced my Dad to take me to look. They ended up having the entire set on the shelf minus Dude Love. I ended up getting Flair, Mankind & Slaughter. I later completed the rest of the set.

I have another story to share about bad customer serivce at tru.
When legends 3 first came out i was looking for vader. I went to tru and did not see anything. I asked the stockboy to check the back and he said sure. All he did was walk to the video game section and talk to his friend for a few mins then he came back and said "we don't have whatever your looking for".
I went to the customer service desk and asked the lady if they could check the other tru stores to see if they had it. She then says "there is no such thing as legends 3".I then pointed out to her that if there is no such thing as legends 3 why did they have on there company website? She then said "I don't know" and told her friend to handle this for her. The other lady called the other tru stores and said no they did not have it.
One the way home i stopped at another tru and found the entire set.

two annoyances:
1. when they ask YOU if you need help.....then when i say sure its like i kicked their dog.
2. refusing to check the back. ive heard people share that they are told to say its all out whether it is or not. doesn't make sense to me. im WILLING to buy the product, all you have to do is retrieve it from where i cant go.

No. I don't waste my time and the stores time calling them up and asking what figures they have. However it must be frustrating to have that happen to you. It was probably some chumlee who said those are on hold for me.
