Just got a good look @ all of elite 18 & am so very glad I did not pre-order these guys. The best figure of the set is Brodus Clay & he is fast headed towards the mid-card, or lower. Let's look @ them one by one. 1) Rey Mysterio-Seriously? Another Rey? We've gotten Rey in E1, E5, E11, E13, E15, E17, Both Best of Elite series', Wrestlemania XXVI & the RSC WM20 Exclusive. Do we really need another Rey? 2) Sin Cara-Neat figure, but he's just a repaint of the figure they released in E15. 3) Wade Barret-Released just in time to be wrong, since he is now sporting a beard. Plus, I believe he is also destined for the mid-card. 4) Undertaker-This figure is hurt by his accessories, or more accurately, lack thereof. This was a time in his career when he wore the Undisputed title. Why didn't that come w/ him. Especially as none of the others come with a belt. Nice figure, but an easy pass until it shows up on clearance. 5) Brodus Clay-Good figure, but his basics are better. His accessories are cool, but will, unfortunately, damage the figure the longer he wears them. 6) Jerry Lawler-Saved the best for last. This should not be listed as a FlashBack figure. Yes he wore this outfit earlier in his career. Had they had a younger, longer haired head sculpt on him It would have been better. Also, At No Time in his career has Lawler had the abdominal definition that this figure displays. IMO, this is probably the weakest set so far. Now Mattel is following this with a really good set. I'll give them that. These are just my opinions & anybody who likes can feel free to disagree. POLITELY, please. I have not insulted anybody on these boards & I would appreciate it if those who disagree extend me the same courtesy. I only say this because I have seen many case of people being called stupid, and sometimes far worse.

i agree with your points on the WASTED spot with another freakin rey, its ridiculous, and also about taker...he is missing a freakin elbow pad...like they couldnt afford that in the budget for an elbow pad? and yes woulda been great opportunity to correct the mistake they made with eddie guerrero legend figure and make his undisputed belt shiny
what a waste

Do we really need another Rey? Agree. Not a fan of the attire color choice either.2) Sin Cara-Neat figure, but he's just a repaint of the figure they released in E15. Yeah its a repaint. Not sure what u expect...since his attires are mostly color swaps. I like it. THe all white stands out in my collection of black & red. Not to mention its current. He's worn this in the last couple of weeks.3) Wade Barret-Released just in time to be wrong, since he is now sporting a beard. Plus, I believe he is also destined for the mid-card. Thats ur personal opinion on Wades career. I for one think his awesome matches w/ Sheamus recently have showed me & WWE creative that he's worthy of a main event spot. He should've beat Cena for the title years ago. It takes Mattel awhile to get new figs out, so why would u expect his beard and UK trunks he just debuted a month or so ago. For me, this is my favorite attire of Wades. Add to that I don't own the elite 11....so i like this fig alot.4) Undertaker-This figure is hurt by his accessories, or more accurately, lack thereof. This was a time in his career when he wore the Undisputed title. Why didn't that come w/ him. Especially as none of the others come with a belt. Nice figure, but an easy pass until it shows up on clearance. This showing up on clearance?? Don't see that happening...not where I live at least. Not my favorite gimmick......but how is he lacking accessories? He has 2. I can see why an Undisputed title would be cool, but they tend to include titles w/ figures that they can't think of any other accessory for. Maybe just maybe they are saving the title for someone who held it....that wouldn't have another accessory *COUGH flashback Brock**. I think this figures cooler than the mohawk one by a longshot. Plus the new pants mold is good for customizers (Test maybe?)5) Brodus Clay-Good figure, but his basics are better. His accessories are cool, but will, unfortunately, damage the figure the longer he wears them. Mine has no stains. How are his Basics better? There is technically only one other Brodus w/ the Funkasaurus gimmick. I like the red arm sleeve on the basic, but it has the mean OLD Brodus scan. Not the new smiling scan that works better for a Funkasaurus. He's got 4 accessories. That makes him like 10 times better than a basic6) Jerry Lawler-Saved the best for last. This should not be listed as a FlashBack figure. Yes he wore this outfit earlier in his career. Had they had a younger, longer haired head sculpt on him It would have been better. Also, At No Time in his career has Lawler had the abdominal definition that this figure displays. I agree w/ most of this. Except for it being best in the set. The best is definately the Brodus IMO. There are at least 3 other Lawlers i would prefer. Don't mind the body mold that much....its exaggerated but not ridiculously so like some other figures in the elite line. My biggest complaint is choosing an ALL BLACK attire. So boring and looks lame when u have it in ur collection w/o the entrance gear on.IMO, this is probably the weakest set so far. Now Mattel is following this with a really good set. I'll give them that. These are just my opinions & anybody who likes can feel free to disagree. POLITELY, please. I have not insulted anybody on these boards & I would appreciate it if those who disagree extend me the same courtesy. You need guys like Rey, Cena, Undertaker, Rock, maybe Orton to be in every few sets or retailers wouldn't want to purchase the figures. You can't do MLB figures and not make Yankee figures or Red Sox figures. You can't make NBA figures and not make Laker figures. You can't do Walking Dead figures and not make Rick. You see where I'm going with this.

I know what you mean about undertaker, would it really have killed Mattel to make a couple million motorbikes. Really?
But seriously, it could have done with the undisputed belt. It's still a solid figure and I'll definitely pick it up.

A) Rey was not in E17, so really a 3 set gap is not that bad, especially since we went from E5 to E11 until we had another. His colors are always changing as well.
B) I personally believe that this set is not weak at all. Lawler may not be a Flashback, but his entrance attire is. I hate how everyone is saying he wore it at WM27 only. No, he wore it before and although he did where it at WM27 with that attire, I see it as a Flashback.
C) Brodus is probably the best in the set. I have no stains on mine and the detail is very impressive.
D) I am not saying that this is you saying this, but it really pisses me off that for the longest time, people were wishing we got Barrett in his entrance coat, and now we finally do and people complain that it's outdated. I really feel that people are going to complain about something no matter what. You truly can't please everyone and some people on this forum are prime examples of it.
So. Overall, I respect you not liking this set, but I feel if Rey were not in it, it would be one of the best sets released.

I don't mind another Rey popping up again, but Mattel just using the same shirt as his E13 figure makes them look like they don't give a damn. They seriously couldn't have chosen a different shirt design?
Other than this and Taker maybe being a little on the boring side, it's a nice set overall. Certainly, not a bad set.

Punk has had a similiar amount of reys in elite line. Best of is simply a rerelease. Shouldn't count IMO. But even if you do they are comparable. But no one says ugh, another punk. and reys attires are more varied than punks. Just saying.
Punk elites: E1, e6, e11, e16, RSC excl, allstars 2pk, wm elite

I really like the set. Apart from Rey and him getting the Yellow bib again and the use of Black as a primary. Also Lawlers headsculpt is poor.
But overall I'm impressed.

Were the looming presence of Elite 19 (which has the steam to be the best set they've ever done in Elites) not there in my brain this would be a better set, i.e. I would probably pick up the ones I'm on the fence about. But I have less spending money this Christmas, and I want to make sure it's saved for E19.

As for the King I know I never said he wore it at wm27 only...but Mattel stated the figure is based off wm27. Which it is because of the modern head scan. So yes he wore it in the past, but that isn't a scan of Jerry 5+ years ago...but rather one from within the last few years. It's a great figure, but it doesn't really fit on the Legends shelf.

sorry Coon I have to disagree about the Lawler. Yes its an attire he has worn back in his USWA days....so in that respect its classic. But the modern headscan for me, nulls the Flashback label it has. I also thought that King Booker as a flashback was a stretch....since that gimmick was only 4 years ago. This is more of a current wrestler putting on one of his classic attires for nostalgia purposes. (If it was elite) Would u consider the Battlepack Steamboat that came w/ Jericho a Flashback?? It has a modern head, but Steamboat also wore that attire back in his WCW days.

When the line was first announced, it was great, I was excited for American Badass Taker, some were excited for Lawler and Clay; But since Ringside Fest and pretty much when Michaels, Lesnar, Liz and Ziggler were announced for Elite 19 the interest in the set has plummeted, the hype for Elite 19, 20 and 21 has pushed this set under the rug completely in my opinion. It's kind of a shame what can you do?

I agree, I barely collect anymore, though I do pick up some elites that are well put togther and only of guys I actually enjoy watching.
there have been a few that have tempted me, Zack Ryder, Foley, new Sheamus, Rey Mysterio. but they're not perfect enough for my liking. Nothing from this series has interested me, Rey is in dire need of a new head scan....

I really only collect the Flashbacks/Legends, so I can comment on them. Undertaker looks good IMO. A pretty perfect rendition of his "Big Evil" gimmick he was using at the time. Maybe they could have used his red shirt or something to make the figure pop more, but I like the all black look.
That said, I prefer the more retro 'Taker, so I'll be skipping Big Evil for the time being.
As for Lawler, I never watched him wrestle as a younger guy, he was always the commentary once I was into wrestling. And to that effect, the CS figure works fine enough to sit in a chair in a display or animation. Not to say the new E18 figure isn't nice, but to me it could have had a different attire and been a little more based off his classic appearance - a little heavier, goatee, longer hair. Maybe red/black or blue/white?
Either way, whoever said the looming shadow of E19 kind of nulled the excitement for this set, I agree. HBK is going to be sought after, and I have a feeling these guys won't be terribly difficult to find in the future.
